I Quit!

This election tears it for me.  I am no longer interested in American politics. If the majority of American voters are that stupid, then I have no place among them.  If someone actually wants to stop these communists, name them for what they are, and take decisive action against them, then I might be willing to participate.  But I'm not throwing any more time, money, and grief down the republican rat hole.  As far as I'm concerned, its the Socialist States of American, and its every man for himself.

I'm not ever giving up, it's not who I am, though I have been living the "every man for himself" lifestyle for more than 20 years.
I had a pretty good idea we were heading this direction, just not as fact as it happened.

Shooter -  It should have been and I for one am shocked that it wasn't.  Although not my first choice it was better than the other.   Now all I can do is stand back and watch.  Toy

According to Haley Barbour, it's Superstorm Sandy's fault.  Nate Silver must have known that storm was coming and factored it into his analysis, too.

As rational people, with faith in the collective wisdom of our fellow Americans; we assumed that after witnessing the failures and incompetence of this administration, they would want it to continue. Obviously our faith was misplaced. Romney was right about that 47% - except he didn't make the percentage high enough. There are people out there who believe that the government will rescue them from any misfortune.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, there was a picture and interview of a black man sitting in the Super Dome. Next to him was someone who had passed away, That person was lying in a lawn chair covered up in a blanket. The black man was sitting their complaining about how "somebody needed to come and do something about that poor man's corpse". I was enraged. You mean he and a few of his friends couldn't have gotten together and carried that poor mans's body down to one of the freezers or at least out into the corridor? But no, it was "somebody else's" job to "take care of it".  Most of the people who stayed behind, to be caught in the flooding, were on some kind of public assistance; and they had sunk so far into dependence, that the very idea of doing things on their own was foreign to them. I had assumed that this attitude was particular to people in that man's situation - but it isn't.

This election showed that perhaps the majority of the country has dropped into that kind of apathy - from the college graduate waiting for the government to pay off their loans, to the working people who have become used to a unemployment check and food stamps. I believe that too many people have come to believe - or perhaps don't care - that the government has some other source of income besides their fellow productive citizens. Eventually when you keep robbing Peter to pay Paul, Peter will realize that unless he fights back, Paul will take everything.

First, and realize this is strictly my opinion. It may be shared by some, but not all.

Romney was a piss poor conservative candidate, nay, actually a liberal ( actually piss poor all the way across the board; rich, well spoken, ( mostly, except when he did not look like a deer in the headlights ) decent looking, white, and an inability to relate ( perceived or otherwise ) with the lower class folks. I came within a hair of not voting for him ( it would have made no difference in Texas ) About the only thing he had going for him was 'he ain't no Obama'. That, in many peoples minds was a poor reason to vote for him.

Still, he had a shot until the convention when his machinery, Boehner, Sununu, and the ass hole Ginsberg, changed the rules in the middle of the stream, effectively screwing not only the Liberty Coalition, but the Tea Party in years to come. This after the shenanigans in Nevada and the NE state. Instead of reaching out to these folks and attempting to gain their support, even a small portion would have made a difference, they fokked them royally. Many of those fokkees ( and I was tempted ) said to hell with him and his RNC dipshits, and either voted third party, just voted for everything but President, or stayed home entirely. What rankles the most, is the RNC and the Anyone But Obama Crowd of Misfits are laying the blame everywhere but where it belongs. They are pulling an Obama.

Many figured they was little difference between Obama and Obama Lite, so why settle for less.

These RNCers seem to always manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They wander along in their reverie until the handwriting on the wall does everything but reach out and kick their misbegotten asses. Think back to the summer of '06. The PUBS had had the world by the tail for six years- the Presidency, the House, the Senate, and they squandered the hell out of their opportunities. About July, their campaign for that November became, oh woe, oh woe, please, we's sorry don't kick us out on our asses, NANCY PELOSI will become Speaker. No shit! What kind of campaign is that?

All the bastards had to do for six years was balance the budget, reduce the debt, stay the fokk home, keep their noses clean and stay in power for years to come.
How did that work out?

Bush had his failings (boy did he have those), but did you ever think for one minute that he didn't have this countries best interests at heart?

Then they win.

We are an uninformed electorate, and a Republican party no longer represents the Conservative belief system. We will be at a major disadvantage until two things happen. 1) we replace the career leeches with and second the system collapses so this that believe in these policies see first hand that they don't.
