Title: I lost a loved one the other day.
Post by: Solar on November 09, 2012, 05:57:36 PM
I lost a loved one the other day.
No, not my parents, they have been gone for sometime now and I miss them dearly, they did their job and set me free after guiding me on the right path.

The lady I speak of taught me things only experience can teach, she taught me self reliance, fairness even when life wasn't fair.
She taught me what it meant to be a man, that being a man meant more than dressing trendy, or having a hot car, it meant being yourself, being strong, reliable, honest and above all else, a leader.
She taught me that being a man meant never having to submit to anyone, that whatever you set your sights on could be achieved, that the only barriers in life were the ones you imposed upon yourself.

However, time took it's toll on her, too many placed unreasonable demands on her, so much so that she got to where most no longer recognized her
Everyone wanted a piece of her, no one liked her old fashioned ideas on life anymore, they didn't like her version of values.

Oh she's still around, but you wouldn't recognize if you haven't seen her in forty years, no, they tried to remake her into something she's not, they tried to remove her core values.
And now they just want her as a figurehead, they no longer want what she stood for.

No, I'm afraid the lady we all knew and loved no longer exists.

We "all" felt the loss--all except her killers.  They're out celebrating.

That had a lot of meaning and reality to it, Solar!  Kind of brought tears to my eyes.

I wish I could just forgive those who voted for Obama, but I can't seem to bring myself around to doing that right now.  Although I know that was their right to vote for who they wanted, but some of them did it for selfish, handout, "grab it while he's here to give it" and open-pocket attitude.   But I think that is why they hollared so loudly against Voter ID this year.........half of them couldn't vote if they had to have picture ID.
Partly because they had too many names, too many social security numbers, and too many addresses..... or none at all.......or they didn't know which one to show.    Maybe we are fortunate that they didn't show an ID........or they may have voted 3 times.  Athough that could have gone both ways.......maybe some of them did vote 2 or 3 times.

Silver, I think of this most painful issue as God's judgement on us for all of the terrible things we have allowed to take place.  I see this as His devine will for us instead of a blessing.  But remember this too, it is not as though He didn't warn us in His word that perilous times were before the end of all things and that matters would wax worse.  So is what we're experiencing right now a part of what He was warning us of?  We are told in His word to examine the times about wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes in diverse places("Sheriff" is into the many, many earthquakes all over the world at the present) and that men will love evil over good and so on.  You, being the daughter of a preacher, remember all of this from your training and I, too, have memories of these teachings from my childhood to now.  Some may say that these are fairy tales but I think not as i have a personal relationship with God and He does speak to us in ways
that we understand and know that it is Him.  Pity the person that worships an idea or that of a mere man.  our Jesus made Himself sin and died for us but the most important thing He did in addition to forgiving our sins was to arise from that grave, proving to us that sin and the grave had no power over us if we but believe on His name.  What we go through here is but little compared to what He went through so we could live and proclaim His purpose and mercy toward us that believe on Him.  I am convinced that we will have to go thru these things and we will come out of it gracefully, but what will the unbeliever do in that great day?  Muhammed and Budda are dead in their graves and can help noone, their followers have worshipped an idea-nothing more.  Finally, I don't believe He will allow us to go thru more than we can stand.  So, cheer up my friend and start looking for His coming, forgiving as you go.  You're a pretty good gal and a special friend to all so don't let anything ruin it for you and I'm in there with ya'!

The lady is still here and she is as lovely and wholesome and good as we all remember her to be.

She is just waiting...

Waiting for the men and women of valor, courage and determination, to come and fight by her side.

I have no pity, no mercy and no sympathy for those who raped and murdered her.

They deserve the worst and they'll get it.

Keyboarder, interesting what you said.  When I woke up Wednesday morning my heart already knew we had lost.  My first thoughts of "Why Lord would you let this happen?"   Led to one word "arrogance".  It is this Country's arrogance that will bring it to its downfall.   Instead of looking to our true higher power, the majority of the people seem to be looking to a false God  - the Government - to save them    Toy

The last post you made on Tuesday before the voting was declared was one where you said you weren't going to worry, that you were sleepy and was going to bed.  As it turned out, you did the right thing and got some rest for the absolute discouragement that you awakened to the next day.  You were better able to handle it than alot of folks.  That's one of the ways that God helps us, He leads if we will follow.  there isn't one other thing that any of us could do after we invited folks to vote and did the same ourselves.  More will be needed from us later as some of us do have friends or acquaintences that voted the other way.  This is the time we wait and try to build back our confidence in other Americans, that they will see what we see and move towards what is best for all Americans.  They will, of course, need our encouragement.

I want to take this time to thank you, Solar, Taxed, Walks and whoever else keeps this great forum up and kicking all the rest of the forums to the curb.  This is a good and informative site plus it is a good place for comradery.  I especially like all of the conservative opinions.  I see that a few more have joined in on the fun like Ragin Rebel and Silver Cougar, two of my friends from three other forums.  These are very good people.  We had us some more fun at the other sites.

As in all things I hand it over to God.  I might pray and ask but I always end it with "Your will not mine Lord."  It has gotten me through some rough times in my life and it will get me (us) through this one as well.

I love this forum (and the man behind it) I learn so much (including patience) being here and participating.  The positive attitude of the members and the knowledge base that is here is amazing.   Thank you and all the members who participate.

I have an idea, in 2016, put a liberal republican in and see how that works out....

I will assume that was sarcasm, because it's been the countries leftward fall that's gotten us in this mess destroying this gracious lady, thanks to the help of the RINO.

Are you giving up on her that quickly, Solar?

Come on.  We withstood Reagan sweeping 49 out of 50 states.  I'm sure Obama winning another term shouldn't be that hard on you.

I'm still really happy about his victory, but I almost feel sorry for Romney, now that I think of it.  The guy honestly thought he was going to win.

And the Bush Florida debacle...   :scared:

Though Im not happy we have to choose between bought candidates, I am happy about the victory over obvious intolerance, and religious dogma. The people of this nation are at least seemingly opening their hearts to change for the better, rather than bowing down to old ways that have been used by rich businessmen over the years.

Here, a little something for the thread.

Saving grace, through time and space
Onward christian soldiers.
Living lies
Angels pride
Redemption songs hissed by cobras.

Inside your red
States all but dead

Save us! scream the fool hearty.
Advance your flag, our ladies tag
Divisive stands your party.

Piercing the skin
Old thoughts dying within
Onward their faith is screaming.
Remember these days

Regretting your ways
Ending
Pursuit of the faulty.
Untie your heart, forget your old gods
Beloved is not your party.
