It is refreshing to see a courageous governor actually address all the welfare fraud we have around our country. Maine put in place a regulation that recipients of a program who were able bodied had to work or do volunteer work twenty hours a week to receive  benefits. The drop in recipients has been drastic. I think more state should implement "work for benefits" regulations. Of course, lib heads are exploding.

Excellent! This also exposes the truth that many on assistance don't see it as a handout, and would prefer to do some service for the community as repayment.
I'm not saying welfare is good, just that some people actually need help, and don't see it as a lifestyle.

It's more than obvious that the majority on welfare are abusing the system.

QuoteGuess what happened as a result? Out of the 12,000 non-disabled welfare recipients without children who were on the rolls last year, only 2,680 remain as of now, according to David Sorensen, spokesman for the Department of Health and Services.

Edit: I'll add that, Ca has had this program in place for years. And yes, they find a work around.
If you have a child 5 or under, they stop the clock and void the work requirement, so every 5 years, they pop out another dependent to the state and keep on sucking off the govt Taxpayer teat..

We have a work program here. Only thing is, you have to actually go out and find a job, hard to do in our economy...they should implement the volunteer to do work for the state here as well.
One of every five Americans you meet has a mental illness of some sort. Many, many, of our veteran's suffer from mental illness like PTSD now also. Help if ya can. :) http://www.projectsemicolon.org/share-your-story.html
And no you won't find my "story" there. They don't allow science fiction. :)

Local governments can always use some help in picking up trash. Even if there is no work I would want their time.

The leeches simply moved to a state with more liberal rules. Amazing isn't it, those folks will move for better welfare, but not anywhere where you can find a job.

LOL....

The, foaming at the mouth feminists, think they are going to get Hillary elected by using the same tactics they used with Obama.

Isn't going to work.  She's yesterday's news, and has more baggage than the one's hanging on her hips.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

Yep, Hitlery is out but watch the media try to prop her up.  They'll have her little entourage, waving and clapping and smiling behind every pic of her.  This is what Obola had every time he spoke, making it look to the viewers of news items that he was well liked.  She'll have the complete support of the news anchors too.  Then there will be election day and Hitlery will then become known as Shitlery.  Heck, she's already a nationwide joke.
