Though, not yet a signed Bill, it's a great first step.

The House Judiciary Committee approved a bill to expand gun owners' rights.

The panel voted along party lines on the NRA-backed bill Wednesday.

It requires officials to accept concealed carry permits from any state even if their own state has stricter standards.

Some law enforcement and prosecutors came out against the bill, saying it takes away local control and undermines state's rights.

The bill comes as the NRA is pushing to make it easier for gun owner's to cross state lines.

A vote on the floor could come as early as next week.
