How fun is politics nowadays?

QuoteWe've come a long way from the days when Robert Mueller was "beyond reproach", and the walls were closing in on Donald Trump.  That's when Donald Trump Jr was a sure thing for indictment and Paul Manafort flipped to give up all the goods between Trump and Putin's secret dealings.

Mueller confirmed what the FBI knew internally immediately after the start of the investigation in May of 2017, and after a few years of looking for Russians, shady dealings closed with Vodka shots and prostitutes, and covert communications between Trump Tower and the Kremlin, here's the scorecard:

The one good thing to come out of the investigation? He used what turned out to be a false dossier paid for by Hillary to destroy a political opponent via the strong arm of govt as its sole weapon.

The following frog march is going to be one to watch.

Muellers investigation revealed more wongdoing on the part of the FBI and other intelligence agencies, with out it, there is a possibiltity that Comey, McCabe, Storzrk, page and a host of others might still be wearing a badge and cooking up who knows what devilment.

I, among many others, predicted this quite a while ago.

ROBERT MUELLER IS SOON TO BE THE MOST HATED MAN IN AMERICA

Taxes are a sacrifice that the working folks make so that those who government can legislate and enforce laws and manage aspects (e.g., infrastructure) that help the nation prosper. We basically hire them to work for us and the selection process is our votes.

Don't you just wish someone with sense would have concluded the collusion claim early? So much of our tax dollars flushed down the toilet - I can hardly venture a guess. A hundred million?

Within a month, a grand jury-like group could have examined the evidence of Trump / Russia collusion and concluded there was nothing solid.

Similarly, a group could look over the Hillary claims and indictments could be written - because there is solid evidence. In fact, I would guess that some on this forum could serve as the prosecutor and list the laws that she broke and the evidence that supports these claims.

The one thing that you would hope is that the powers that be would gain some sense and learn from their mistakes. But they never do. They just keep blowing our hard-earned tax dollars frivolously. And we're used to it ... and let this broken part of the system prevail.

The politicians won't fix it - they are the problem. The bias from both sides to try and overcome the other to gain power. The people need something independent. Possibly a pool of normal folk (not politicians) to look over a case before it goes to a council - or at least to examine a council's progress in an investigation and make a call when it ventures out -of-bounds, when evidence it not there, or when there is and to wrap it up. Also to work against a budget - like the rest of us have to.

This forum has many critics of the process - but how can we influence this appalling use of our tax money to end and get some value for our sacrifice?

In retrospect, what Trump did was brilliant. He knew before anyone else he never did a thing wrong, he knew if such an investigation occurred that the left would be forced to show its hand in all of this.
Truth is, they handed Trump a blueprint of their illegal actions, making it far easier to link all the Marxists involved.
Fact is, he let the Marxists play themselves and expose every player involved. Simply brilliant!
