GOP May Have Majority but They Don't Have Control

Many republicans ran on campaigns of fixing or repealing Obamacare including the individual and employer mandates along with restoring our constitutional rights. Many of them also vowed to reverse Obama's flagrantly illegal immigration program and uncontrolled spending.

However, just holding a majority does not give Republicans control, as they are finding out.

Republicans tried once again to show their control by passing a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security but block the funding necessary to pay for Obama's delayed deportation program. Knowing that Obama would again use his veto, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell caved in and led the passage of a Senate bill that included funding for the delayed deportation program.

It didn't mean anything that Republicans had control. The only power in Washington DC at the moment is called 'veto' and it's wielded by the most crooked, corrupt and socialist leader this nation has ever experienced. The simple four letter word – veto – actually translates to mean the dictatorial control of Barack Obama. Unless enough Senate Democrats wise up to Obama's plan to destroy our nation, the threat of Obama's veto will continue to destroy, mock and humiliate the Republican Party and business in Washington DC will continue to be the same unproductive fiasco it's been over the past four years.

In one more week, we'll see Republicans cave in one more time. They won't stand their ground. They won't do what the American people voted them into office to do. They'll cower to the power of Obama's veto like frightened little puppies with their tails tucked between their legs. Instead of standing for the Grand Old Party, perhaps the GOP should now be known as the Gutless Old Party.

Were those your words or did you quote from the article? It's important to differentiate when responding to someone.

Either way, this is a gut issue, and if you can ignore the leftist media hype, the facts are clear, the Dims destroyed any chances of getting elected in 2016, in fact, both party's will suffer even more Establishment loss in 2016.
Seriously, ask yourself if people like living in a depression, illegals flooding the country and taking the few remaining jobs available, like paying for for energy and food, love losing Freedoms and Liberty, love the way the IRS was used as a political tool, and that's just to name a tiny few issues facing voters..
And you somehow think these people will actually vote for more of this bull shit?
What in the Hell are you drinking?

I think we need to be careful about this. Rational criticism about pertinent events and political positions is the way to go. If we wander off into the weeds with allegations about events that are a quarter of a century old, we risk making her look like a "victim".

Remember, as obnoxious and homely as she was, during the Clinton Administration, her popularity actually went up during the Ken Starr investigation and the Monica Lewinsky affair! Why? Because she was made to look like a victim!

She has been dining out on that card ever since - and eating like a queen!

Sorry about that.  The whole thing was from the link.  I'll leave it this way.  You think much like I and others do but therein is part of the problem facing us all.  We are not the majority any longer and there is great division in the party between the RINOs and the Conservatives. I hope you are right.

Ahhh, but we are the majority, but you wouldn't know it listening to the media and, or the GOP, whose defeatist attitude has been part of their plan, to play the underdog and not take any heat for failure.
But like it or not, we gave them a win as they were kicking and screaming for obscurity, we still forced them into a position of owning Legislation passed under their watch .

Yes, it's sadly true, they do not want to be in power, as evidenced by a series of failed candidates to their collection, as in Bush, Dole, McCon, Mitten and now they want to push Bush. Bush?
Think about it, does that really sound like the strategy of a party Hell bent on winning would pull?

The GOP leadership is nothing but an extension of the DNC establishment, both related and sharing of the same goals for the country, and none of it has the interests of the people.
So what you see and hear in the media is all packaged product for mass consumption.
Simply step back with an open mind and see the ire of the people, something the Establishment doesn't want us to focus on, instead, they create the illusion that Clinton, a failed pol, actually has a viable chance at getting elected.

In truth, it's so ludicrous to think there are really that many gullible people out there left to believe it, but as you pointed out, the left is extremely stupid, but after 6 years, they don't want anymore, no matter how the media sells it.

Yes, the Dim product is dead, not that the GOP is all that much more desirable, but TEA doesn't care about rescuing the GOP, we just want to steal the party and kick the scum Establishment to the curb.

Scoff if you like, but I guarantee that she has spent the past 6 1/2 years making sure, if she does run, that the events of 2008 don't happen again!

Remember, the press isn't, and never will be on our side.

It's unlike me, but this time I'm telling it straight. Her name was April -- I don't know her middle or last names. And she was the most beautiful woman in the world. And she happened to work for our family doctor as a nurse. And she really did give us suckers. (Remember the ones with the loop handles?) In those days, the doc -- and his nurse! -- still made house calls, and I remember at least one of those. Mom and Dad treated them like royalty. But then the TV repairman got pretty much the same treatment, and even the milkman got a lot of respect.

Boy, so far 2015 ain't so good for famous folks dyin'. Donna Douglas was hot stuff in 1962, and I'll miss her.... but just for a minute or two. What else did she ever do besides be Elly May?

Now Spock I'll miss. Nanoo nanoo. Do the mind melt. "V" for Vulcan victory! He could really swing that light saber! I think he got in trouble for pinching that Takei fellow just a bit too gingerly.

As Elmer Fudd was wont to say: "Wive wong and pwospuh!"

Yeah, I remember the epoch... and contently restful blessings to April.  My family-doc's nurse became my banker after he retired.  Nothing like doing weekly business with a woman who's seen you whiny-'n-naked through the years.

Donna Douglas was in that T-Zone episode where her face was bandaged after surgery... and all the docs and nurses were filmed in shadow.  Her bandages are removed... and she's beautiful Donna... but when she looks in a mirror, she screams... the nurses' and docs' face emerge from the shadows... and they all look like Fudd-ian gargoyles.  Then Serling comes-on and waxes Faustian about beauty being in the eye of the beholder.

I would disagree.  The nation is getting dumbed-down more each day.  Watch Watter's World.  Ignorance is like a cancer in today's society.  These people cast votes.  They have no idea who the V.P is or how many branches of government there are but they know Beyoncé's latest song and what the Kartrashians are up to.  It's all about handouts and "what's in it for me".  Democrats will sell their souls if need be to get elected or reelected.

No slight meant to women as a whole but do you realize how many will vote for Hillary (should she run) merely because they want the first woman President?

The only way Hillary may think twice is if Trey Gowdy hauls her fat behind in and tears her apart.  Short of that, she runs and has a good chance of winning, IMHO.  She's basically unchallenged form her own party.  Why?
Why is she unchallenged from her own party, Great question. I don't think it is so much because the left and the media see her as a sure lock but rather I think they see 2016 as a blood bath coming. Kerry might be dumb enough not to see it , but the rest seem to be sitting this one out and waiting for 2020 when hillary will be 110 years old.

I think we should pick 1 Hillary scandal a day for it's own thread so we can go into a lot of detail starting on the day she makes her announcement. I would start with some of the oldest jucie ones first. Run it until it is played  out and start another!! It would take us a year to go through them all at that rate!!

zewazir

I have this fantasy in which the "witch-with-a-B" is arrested for treason (re: Benghazi), with federal officers hauling her away from the podium from which she planned to make her announcement.

hillary and Saul Alinsky is a great starter thread that would hit her with stuff way back to her collage days and start framing the portrait as the radical she is. Some of Bills radical collage days can show why they were attracted to each other! A good example there would be his Moscow trip when he was a student. A lot of un explained things there!! We can have some real fun in a couple months!!
