No, I'm not reading tea leaves or using a crystal ball, I'm just doing the math, just like these researchers did.
In summary, the study found that we won't be shocked when the price spikes a 5th time.
Essentially the damage has been done and we accommodated for it after the first spike.

What this says is, Dems completely understand how far they can push us, they know after the initial shock of one of their schemes wears off, the next push will be less of a blow on the public at large.
When you think about it, that is a rather scary scenario with a Marxist writing Executive orders left and right.

The first time something like this happened in 2008, it was quite a jolt to consumers and to the economy. In fact, the U.S. is still in the process of adjusting to that shock 4 years ago. The vehicles that many Americans were driving at the time just don't make sense if you have to pay $60 or more every time you visit the gasoline station. Even so, you don't get rid of the old gas-guzzler right away, but make sure you change when you buy a new one. The average fuel economy of new U.S. cars purchased has been steadily increasing since 2008.

Off topic just a bit but, my friend Liba, in Israel, pays $11 a gallon for gas, over $140 for her last fill up (she posted about it on facebook).  I don't think I could manage our budget with gas prices like that.  At least she lives in an Urban area where she can ride the bus.

Hmm..  that would cost me 286 $ per fill up.

Point is, the left has figured out the formula for boiling frogs, and it would appear they are now turning up the heat with the Marxist in Chief.
He has pushed through so many EOs that we have come to expect even worse but seem powerless against it because of the ineptness of the GOP.

Seriously, would anyone be surprised, or shocked if we went full blown socialists within the next 4 years?

I don't believe there is a doubt Obama is a Marxist. One only has to look at his appointments and assocuates. Valerie Jarrett's father was a communist. He appointed Van Jones. He wants to "transform" America to a socialist country if not further. It is up to the current House to impede as much as possible. The GOP needs to come together. Us voters need to quit being "single" issue voters. We are dividing our own house.

He is no question a Marxist.

The simple answer is, of course, no.  The not-so-simple is the question of how to stop it.

Our best weapon is 2014 midterm elections, when we send a bus load of RINO packing.
At this point all we have is a bunch of capitulating cowards in office.

That is great, but this president has made more executive orders than all other presidents who have had the ability combined.  The 2014 election is just under two years away, a lot of damage can be done in that much time.
Also, I have no confidence in my elected representatives, Al Franken doesn't even read the letters he gets.  It is hard not to feel like things aren't starting to get beyond control, when you realize you have zero influence.

Which brings home my point. Are we frogs or fighters?

Something ain't right.

In the last 4 years, so-called Big Oil has made an embarrassing amount of money - ask any Liberal they'll tell you all about it.

However, it was the policies of the Obama Administration which made these profits possible. Under the previous administration, gas prices and profits were low. Under Obama, both have skyrocketed.

I don't think this is a coincidence.

One of the largest donors to the Obama campaign back in 08 was BP America - who just happened to be operating the Deep Horizon drilling rig which blew up and allowed Obama to unilaterally shut down drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

This time around, Obama's (indeed, the Democrats) connection to Big Oil is more cleverly masked, but with a little bit of effort, you can see it is still there.

Oh, Obama talks a good game - doing away with so-called subsidies for Big Oil, but have you noticed something? That hasn't happened. Nor, is it likely to.

And yet, people on both sides of the equation call Obama the "green" candidate/president.

The only green I see is the payola that Obama is raking in from Big Oil to keep the price of gas UP!

That's how I see it, your mileage may vary!

Yep, and exposes the lie that he's doing it for the environment.

The environment?  Just ask yourself how bad his folks in dear old Kenya have had it for all of his existence and you should have a different perspective on obama's care of OUR environment.  He could care less, just like every other lie we've been told to swallow.  You see?  We've been spoiled and we don't deserve all we've got.  We just need to get like the other countries, suck up the devastation he plans for us.  Unless we take the iniative and really get serious with our politicians, nothing will change.  The mid term elections of 2010 was an important window of opportunity for us but one that need not be forgotten so quickly.  Time is wasting.  Should there be more protests, maybe on the politicians lawns? What else is left  because the newspapers have been bought off?  You can't sully them and embarrass them into compliance with voter's rights and wishes!  Oh, but wait a second here, you can't actively demonstrate and run two or three part-time jobs to be able to make ends meet.  Think about it folks, they've worked overtime to stop any and all opposition to their agenda.  Even down to things like jobs and having a life outside of work.  The regime had rather you work this many jobs so you'll be a good little comrade and just work, no private life at all.  Tell me it hasn't been headed this way for awhile and I'll ask, " where have you been"?   IMHO      Didn't mean to rant.

It only took an .11 increase in gas over the weekend to get this kind of a rant from me and the gas has went up another .03 since yesterday.
