Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I had a half pound bacon cheese burger and fries!

(A little explanation is in order...)

I don't like turkey. I have never liked turkey. I will never like turkey. And yet, for at least 18 years as a youth I had to sit down every Thanksgiving and choke down that horrid meat as if I enjoyed it. Then as an adult the torture continued - either at home or at friends homes decorum and tradition demanded Turkey on thanksgiving.

This year we went out to eat with some friends. Everyone else ordered the turkey dinner.

Not me! This was my year! As I perused the menu my eyes happened upon nature's most perfect food - a 1/2 pound of lean ground beef, 3 strips of bacon and two slices of Swiss cheese.

Would they really serve this on Thanksgiving? The waiter said, "Yup!"

Game on!

Well, we started eating Thanksgiving Lunch out last year and then in the evening we have family over for odds and ends....mostly odds for Thanksgiving meal, since most of the family ate the normal Turkey Dinner at their wives relatives!

This year, I got up and fixed Country Ham, eggs, grits, redeye gravy, toast and apple butter for breakfast.......no lunch.......but  cooked crab legs, had shrimp cocktail, grapes, celery and veggie dip, strawberries and chocolate dip, corn, potatoes, chicken nuggets and wings, pizza.......Rocky Road Chocolate Cake (made by my son).....well you get the picture.
