The spin is Trump will sign.
Problem is, he has yet to see the actual Bill, along with the rest of the Senate.
What do you think will happen?

I suspect Trump is playing it cool, claiming he will listen and read the details, give them a couple of more days to change some of the wording, and if they don't, Trump put's the shutdown right square in Fuglosi's lap.
Trump is in a win, win position, because the Dims already caved on Wall funding, and Trump still holds the option of calling for a National Emergency with 26 Billion already to go and even more after the EO goes through.

So what do you think Trump will do?.

I and for taking the money and run with it.  Then call for a National Emergency with the 26 Billion already to go and even more after the EO goes through.

I think that's why many  in the media on the right are for this, they are trying to soften the impeding blow that much of his base will see as a promise broke.
However, if Trump is convincing enough and exposes how it was the Dims that caved and not him, they should be OK with not allowing the left to shut down the Govt.

For over 50 years the Dem's have been taking and taking and the taxpayer get "Nothing in Return".   Trump is not playing by their rules, he is out to win for all the people in the U.S. A.

Yep, both party's play politics at the peoples expense. Trump is cutting past the shit and getting the job done, one that should have been finished a century ago.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders cautioned that no decision has been made on whether Trump will sign the bill, saying Wednesday morning on Fox News, "We'll see what the final package looks like but like you said and like the president himself said yesterday, he's not happy about it."

She continued, "But he's okay because he's going to get the job done no matter what. He's got alternative options and he's going to keep those on the table, again we'll see what the final package looks like and the president will make a determination on whether or not he's going to sign it."

Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney essentially outlined this plan on Fox News, saying Sunday, "We'll take as much money as you can give us and then we'll go off and find the money someplace else, legally, in order to secure that southern barrier, but this is going to get built with or without Congress."

"There are certain funds of money that he can get to without declaring a national emergency and other funds that he can only get to after declaring a national emergency," Mulvaney said.

Billy's bayonet

Gazing into my crystal ball here is what I see: PROVIDED there is no hidden bomb by some Dem or Rino,

Trump will take the deal, it is after all a Win after Pelosi and the dems said not one dollar for the wall.

Trump has something up his sleeve, I suspect he might declare an emergency DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF REDUCED SPACE at confinement facilitites, those idiots think they ripped him off on.  IE:We can't house prisoners from a caravan of 10 thou illegals claiming asylum so lets declare an emergecy and reinforce the Border with US Troops. THERE IS YOUR EXIGENT CIRCUSTANCES, not being able to confine PRISONERS. He could claim he is using the money for more bed space and more 'Humanitarian aide'....how could those clowns block him on that?

PLUS if they go into court to try and block him the fact they DID allow SOME money for a wall works in Trumps favor, it simply wasn't enough and he didn't want to shut the Govt down over it. So the Dems are hard pressed to SHOW CAUSE for a blocking injunction on a wall they already agreed to.

Either way declaring an emergency after he gets the border security package will drive the left more insane than they already are, so the entertainment/torment value alone would be worth it.

I think if he finds the "poison pills" some are talking about he will call BS on the democrats and not sign it as is.

I cant help but feel if there are any poison pills, McConnell would have pointed them out by now. I admit to being surprised many times by how Trump"s plans play out. I still feel he has the dims right where he wants them and if getting ready to drop the hammer.

You have more confidence in McConnell than I do.

Believe me, the bar I have for McConnell is only ankle high. I'm just hoping someone has tipped Trump off to everything in the bill before he signs it and he has already decided how to get it done. I will say this for McConnell, he has exceeded my expectations. As rino's are being weeded out, those left are getting better.  I think. We will soon know, I see this as Trump's line in the sand.

I do agree with you that McConnell has been friendlier to Trump. He is no idiot and sees what Trump is accomplishing.

That's what I see as well. We've seen this play out every time in Trump's favor and you know it was planned months in advance.

Trump will sign border bill, McConnell says, and declare national emergency

In a surprise development Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced on the Senate floor that President Donald Trump would sign a border security funding bill that would avert a government shutdown, but also would declare a national emergency in order to get more funding for his proposed border wall.

His announcement came just before a Senate vote on the measure, which the House is scheduled to vote on Thursday evening.

Many Republicans, including McConnell, had advised the president against declaring a national emergency.

Trump had said previously he was reserving judgment on whether he'll sign the measure until he sees the final text, though the president has indicated he is warming to the deal after receiving a briefing Tuesday on its parameters from Sen. Richard Shelby, the top Republican negotiating on behalf of his party.

"We're looking for landmines," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Wednesday. "A shutdown would be a terrible thing. I think a point was made with the last shutdown. People realized how bad the border is, how unsafe the border is and I think a lot of good points were made, but I don't want to see another one."

President Trump is getting only $1,375,000,000 for "the construction of primary pedestrian fencing, including levee pedestrian fencing, in the Rio Grande Valley," and the money comes with restrictions.

Trump's proto-type walls, such as the ones he visited last year  in San Diego, are prohibited; the congressionally mandated "pedestrian fencing" may not be erected in wildlife refuges, state parks, or the National Butterfly Center; and "physical barriers" may not be built in cities and other jurisdictions until federal officials and local politicians reach mutual agreement on the design and location of those barriers.
