I see train load after train loan pass down below me going to Portland Oregon to ship out.  They are maxed out and have the right away most all the time.

As France, Germany and Italy chastised President Trump for rejecting the Paris climate accord in June and mocked the U.S. for turning its back on the environment, their nations were busy importing record amounts of American coal.

The U.S., federal data show, is seeing something of a coal renaissance, but the boom — partly the result of Mr. Trump's aggressive policies to roll back Obama-era regulations on the fuel — largely has benefited foreign markets. Some of the biggest buyers are also the biggest critics of the Trump administration's climate policy, including China and leading European nations that now claim to be the world's leaders on fighting global warming.

The Central Europeans led by Denmark, Germany, Austria, the Czech's and Poland, are heavy users of Methane Gas imported from Russia; not coal.
In fact, the expansion of hydraulic fracturing of shale in our north west has unleashed substantially larger amounts of methane than thought earlier thereby creating an export opportunity for us to take this market from Russia.

Yes, and our gas exports are killing the Russian death grip it had on the EU.
But the point of the article isn't about Russia, it's about Marxist hypocrisy. It was this so called Paris Accord they foolishly stapled themselves to that is helping kill their own economies.
Obozo tried to lock us into this agreement, he tried to kill off the coal industry, not to save the planet, but to help kill off capitalist societies, and stupid European leaders pushed this BS under the PCA.
Trump said F' Off you morons, I have an economy to save. So what did France and Germany do? THey tell Trump he is not allowed to attend the next Paris Accord, then quietly turn around and nearly double their imports of US coal.
China playing the same game, the biggest polluter on the planet, has the audacity to call us to the mat while joining the PCA, while it continues to pollute, and not Co2, actual 1930s dirty coal fired plants.

You can find all the data here, personally, I find this shit fascinating, and I have no idea why, it's drier than a cracker in the Death Valley August.
Reading this data is akin to pounding ones head against the wall, all the while secretly enjoying the pain.

Solar, predictably on the mark.
A work colleague who now lives in Idaho and works in oil and gas, informed me that our Shale Producers had reached agreement last fall w/ Poland, Estonia and Latvia to construct LNG tank farms along the Baltic Sea Coast to hold our liquefied methane gas until it can be piped to buyers as far south as the Balkans. The Russians are not happy.
An economic transaction such as this will reverse, by 2020, our chronic negative balance of payments by billions.
Markets work but the left remains mystified and grumpy that Trump will get the credit.

The Poles and Balkan states hate the Russian. I remember visiting Estonia and Poland some years ago and the disdain for Russia is universal. They a will do anything they can to reduce their dependence on anything from Russia.

My Guess would be CHina...here on the east coast the story is a bit different, We see train loads of coal coming up from SW Virginia and up around Winchester traffic often comes to standstill as West Va coal makes its way to seaboard ports. I think some of that is what is going to Europe.

Bingo! Putin had his chance to make nice with Europe and lock in 50 year deals and completely screwed himself, and his socialist style economy, heavily dependent upon oil is now suffering greatly.
Will this force the Russians to finally throw off the old and worn out Hammer and sickle? The future looks very bright from where I sit.

While omnipotent for the moment, Putin's a stale old worn-out leftover from the USSR.  He wants the USSR back, reconstituted.

Like the Chinese, he knows that he needs a good old fashioned capitalist mafia to be obscenely rich himself, but he still has an odd connection to the good old communist days.  Probably all that massive power over everybody, able to pick life or death for millions at a pop.  Psychos and sociopaths love that stuff.

Kind of like the beauty queen from the 1950s, still thinking she's all that and more.
Though I think Putin knows what he's up against and it pisses him off.
I see him having two real options, make nice with Trump, or play the 'behind the scenes' manipulation of pawn countries, Syria, Turkey etc, make life as miserable as possible for Trump, but I think that would be a huge mistake, Trump appears to understand Geo politics better than the last 4 loser POTUS.
If Putin screws up, Trump will skin his ass in public.
