I buy all the old shows of the 40,50 and 60s, and one very obvious difference in yesterday and today.
Is grammar, they had it, and today sucks!!!
You will never hear "me and him" or any other lazy Ebonics BS in the old shows.
It is a a reflection on the dumbing down of our Nation, PC run amuck, the attitude of giving awards merely for showing up.

I always find it interesting that so many people smoked cigarettes on the talk shows and game shows, and even some of the regular TV series.

Remember Rod Serling on the Twilight Zone? I don't remember ever seeing him without a lit cigarette. Johnny Carson -- and many of his guests -- smoked 'em on camera. Of course, Serling and Carson both died of tobacco-related diseases...

For the most part, these days you can quickly spot the "bad guy" in a show by the presence of a cigarette between his lips.

Today we have "Dexter," and any number of hack-'n'-slash flicks, whereas in the 60s the bad guy actually got caught and punished.

OOOH...excellent point, the blurring of right and wrong.

Everything today out of hollywood is the counter culture and anything but a normal middle class family. Everything has to have a gay or a minority who is the boss or an authority figure or single lesbian mom struggling to raise her kid.  This is just part of hollywoods social engineering.

Once in a while shows like south park do the spoofs. SNL does but they are too tame and too liberal slanted.

I downloaded them before they aired in the 50s and burned a copy, cause I knew Hollywood would never make Conservative stuff again. ::)
