Seems there only a handful of car companies that didnt take our cash..

Ford. BMW, Toyota got collectively a totaly of 26.8 billion from our stimulus..IN SECRET

Your Honda was probably made just down the road from me. The most popular Hondas and Acuras are made here. Used to make a lot of bikes here too, but in recent years moved all that back to Japan.

Well tbone im disappointed..because I thought my next vehicle was going to be a ford to show support because I thought they did it on their own....no matter what the money was for they still got 16billion of our money and got it in SECRET...real shame my choices are a japanese auto or a korean that are made in this country.

Seems to me if you want to spend your money WISELY you would buy a "pre-stimulus" Ford or Chevy.  But that's just me.   ;D

I was EXACTLY where you are before the news came out. Here we were thinking Ford was the Good Guy, and it turns out they were just on a tit we couldn't see.

The really bad news (for me, a truck guy) is that Honda only makes one pickup truck, and it sucks. Reminds me of the old El Caminos and Rancheros -- "trucks" that bear a remarkable resemblance to mid-size station wagons without the back part of the roof.

You could go Korean -- KIA or Hyundai -- great warranties, low prices, decent quality. But if Kim Jong Il gets out of hand it might be sorta hard to get parts when it breaks. At least with Honda, the quality is generally high and the engines and transmissions are made here in Ohio mostly with parts made in the US.

Weird, ain't it? Honda may just be the most American of all car companies.

When I retired I did for a short time what I always wanted to do since a kid...sell cars, I always had this thing about selling cars, so I did it.
I sold fords for almost  two years and I made a TON OF MONEY..I was astounded at the money I made. The disparity between the salesman within  the  dealership was HUGE...from 10k-to a 100k...I wasnt the top but I was real near it...To me it was alot of fun..I didnt view it as work because I didnt need to do it to live...I just needed to do it and I dont regret it..
I lease AF..its the cheapest way to drive a new vehicle all the time...costs me nothing but gas....now thats not saying all vehicles are better to lease...it differs vehicle to vehicle

Leasing is fine, if your purpose is to drive around in a new vehicle every couple of years and not really OWN it.

My attitude is more of a "utilitarian" one.  We own two 2003 vehicles.  A Ford Super Duty pickup and a Chevy mini-van.  They are paid for, they get both us me from point A to point B just fine, they are very reliable, and they both serve their specific purposes.

I would love to collect some late-60s muscle cars and some late 50s cars, but that is a dream of mine that is on hold, because I am not at all convinced that we are going to have a functional country in another year or two.

Last honda lease I had I sold and made 4 grand at the end of the lease...People dont realize when you lease, you can sell that car to ANYONE you choose at the end of the lease or anytime in between and you can negotiate with the dealer when you turn it in on trade in value.
Just remember some cars are HORRENDOUS leases and will kill you financially...forget the real cheapo cars for leasing of any brand. Alot of luxury cars are terrible leases because their resale value sucks.....Honda leases are some of the best because of the resale value ratio of their vehicles...but like any other car deal you make you can really get the shaft on a lease if your clueless and just take the payment they offer you...
NEVER BUY A PAYMENT never answer the question..What do you want to pay a month when your asked...I usually answer I dont want to pay anything now lets start from there buddy :)

I like that.  Great advice.  The dealers always try to steer you away from the "bottom line" and get you to concentrate on the monthly payment, and/or how much of a down payment you need at signing.
