Ginsburg Plans to Stay Awhile

I hope she does -- at least until 2016 when we have a shot at replacing this ACLU RADICAL with a common sense Conservative. Republicans don't have a great record on these appointments, but we KNOW what Obama's gonna do!

QuoteGinsburg plans to stay on court for 'a while'

"My answer is, I will do this job as long as I can do it full steam," she told Yahoo News. "When I feel myself slipping. When I can no longer think as sharply, write as quickly, that will be the time for me to leave the court."

Some liberals have urged her to retire so President Obama could nominate a successor while Democrats control the Senate.

When asked if the politics of naming a successor should factor into her decision, she said, "All I can say, I am still here and likely to remain for a while."

She said she models her tenure after former Justice Louis Brandeis, who was appointed at 60 and stayed until he was 83.

"I expect to stay at least that long," Ginsburg, 81, said. She would be 83 in March 2016.

It's all about HER, not anything else.

That's okay, she's doing the country a favor by waiting until a Conservative is in the White House. Otherwise Obama will be able to appoint another radical that'll be there another 40 years. Leave her alone, and let her sleep for the next two years.

This statement got me to thinking earlier today when I saw this.

Could it be, maybe even SHE, doesn't like the path the country is on, and doesn't want the Marxist appointing a commie to the court?

I think you may have it. This also may include Breyer.

I think she is just selfish which for the country is a good thing.  She has no idea what's going on.  I say this because I watched a clip of her interview with Couric and she still says that the Hobby Lobby decision deprives women of contraception.  She fails to acknowledge that there are still 16 different items available to women and that only the omes that caused abortion were denied.  For all her education and experience she's still an idiot.

Go out for a nice long walk. Breathe fresh air if they still let you have any. And stop talking as if there's a damned dimes' worth of difference between Ginsburg and a genuine Red with her ACLU background. Give unto me an iota of a scintilla of a halfhearted BREAK here!

Donks are scared blind this election season and DO NOT want the topic of Supreme Court replacements to further accentuate how far left that sorry party of slime has fallen. Chalk this up to allaying those fears ahead of any real news stories to the contrary: "Old news, she already said she wouldn't"...et cetera.

If Hillary beats Warren, all bets are off. That's the way his America-hating self does bidness.

Aside from admitting they're Marxists, what more do they need to do?

I agree the moonbat is a leftist, but even as a leftist, she's shown a smidgen of integrity over the decades, while a full blown commie would not.
No one knows the real reason she's staying, but if she was a serious party loyalist, she'd fall on the sword and step aside, she did not.

I did a crummy job of saying that AFTER the 2014 elections, it's another story. "Fall on the sword"? Nah. More like a measured plan to replace her, ready to roll once the voters have spoken. It's a placating measure, not an end to the issue. If Hillary beats Warren, Obama will name Warren to replace Ginsburg and a lame duck Democratic Senate will approve her. After all: how can you further punish liberals getting tossed from the trough? They have nothing to lose by this and the hard core left has everything to gain.

Huh? We haven't had the mid terms yet.

Case in point. She isn't stepping down like a good party loyalist.

She just said it BEFORE the elections. After the big day? She could resign and be replaced by a Dem majority Senate and there's nothing the GOP minority can do about it.

Um, I think YOU missed the boat almost as badly as Ginsburg did.

Hobby Lobby had declined to pay for insurance coverage for four abortifacients (things that prevent embryos from attaching to the womb or cause them to detach and be eliminated) on religious grounds. These four abortifacients have been classified as "birth control" by executive fiat via the Department of Health and Human Services and included as mandated health insurance coverage under KenyaCare.

The Supremes merely affirmed that Hobby Lobby has the right to NOT PAY FOR these things. Hobby Lobby has never attempted to prevent its employees from using ANY type of birth control, and has always paid for coverage that provides the other 16 items on the government's list. NO ONE has even tried to deny ANYONE access to ANY sort of birth control.

lol, you know Obama asked her to step down, and when she declined, has been hoping for her to die ASAP.  Same with Kennedy.

He wants his people in those 2 slots, and to make sure they don't get sick or croak under a GOP prez.

AndyJackson

If given the chance, Obama may install Hillary and Warren, lol.
