Nice quote, but what does that mean in real life. A President WILL make appointments. What are YOU gonna do about it except bitch about the choice?  NOBODY'S gonna make the "perfect" choices that YOU (but not the next guy) would make.

All you can do is help get the best possible person in office to make that choice that most CLOSELY reflects your own views.

That quote is one of the most irritating of all quotes so loved by the defeatists to explain away their own non-involvement.  For some reason they think it makes them superior to the choices "we" peons have to make.
