How would I go about it?
Watch, and think back to how it used to be, and look at what it is today, you'll have your answer.

If I wanted America to fail, I would let Democrats continue to run our cities, where they will blame rural gun owners for the violence their dismal policies have caused.

I would encourage seizing guns, because I would be afraid of the voters and I'd want them unable to stop me. No Democrat fights fairly; that's why they form gangs of thugs and call themselves unions, extorting money from someone who actually tried to succeed and did, unlike they who just hire in and complain.

If I wanted America to fail I would "force" teachers to preach multiculturalism, when it was the Melting Pot which made America great. If I wanted division and envy and hate, I would allow racist trash like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton or Jeremiah Wright to profane God's name and declare themselves spiritual leaders.

I would be a good Democrat, protecting the incompetent or the ideologues, the True Believers utterly convinced that you teach math with a calculator and NOT teach kids how to cope when an enemy takes out our entire society with an electronic blast.

Any true Democrat teaches boys to be girls and girls to be men, and definitely the twain shall meet. If I want America to fail I would not have children and think only of buying votes for the next election, not actually think about installing a future government which may deny the same vote. The children born by mistake would of course be taught all weapons are evil, and that surrender is always better.

If I want America to fail, I would presume someone else will do it for me. When my power goes out I will be too stupid to put on extra clothes, or even know how to start a fire (much less make my frappacappachino over an open fire). I will abandon whatever tiny spark of American Pioneer may lurk within me, and abandon self-reliance. I will beg for a faceless bureaucracy to be my parent. I will never know the difference between the joy of earning something and taking it as an "entitlement."

If I want America to fail, I would run it like Democrats run Detroit, and make no change at all.

And Paul Harvey warned us nearly 50 years ago. I think that's where they got the idea for the video, from watching Harvey' prophetic warning coming to fruition.

Assuming I got the link right, this should be a slightly better audio copy.

Paul Harvey 1965 If I Were The Devil

The first piece is one I've used, myself, but the libs simply have nothing to say because they are the ones who have been in continuous charge of Detroit --- since about 1964 --- and now they cannot justify it is all the Republicans' fault.

Our parents sacrificed as Depression-era children and in turn worked two jobs to afford the newfound postwar luxuries which America's expanding economy was all too happy to deliver. We the Boomers grew up with remote-controls in our hands and our kids the uncommon mouse (unwired, to be sure).

Our society raced in technology and lagged in entrepreneurial spirit, stifled by over-regulation by people hired to administrate programs in which they did not believe or were unlikely to make succeed. For all America knew these same administrators had been in breadlines two weeks before: certainly the level of their expertise sounded awfully close.

We found jobs for those who wanted to work and our better American nature said, sure, we can afford a social net. When we said it, five generations hadn't yet sucked the blood out of the system, indoctrinating countless welfare recipients in the fine art of doing nothing at all and not starve, doing it.

And on one last note about American patriotism, on Obama's watch the United States Treasury stopped printing actual bonds for us to buy, and went to electronic versions only. Now our faith in America isn't worth the paper it's not printed on.

I used the original, because Paul has rewritten it over the years.

On a side note: You had a Zenith Space Command remote controlled TV?
Wow, your parents must have been wealthy.

Our neighbor had one, we used to stand outside their window and jingle our keys to change the channel.

You refer to the part about TVs with remote controls, yes? Okay, that applied after about 1964 in my family. Until then, they had ME as their remote control.

Again, you were rich, we didn't really have a TV, anyway, one that pulled more than one very fuzzy station.

We had CBS, NBC, ABC and CBC (Canada), all out of Detroit and just across the river in Windsor. I confess I became a TV slut as a young lad, corrupted by Soupy Sales and Bill Kennedy at the Movies. All in glorious black-and-white for most of my fragile youth: I'm sure leftists would say that, ah, shaded my worldview.

Sacramento was still a small town back then, they had all the network stations, but if you didn't live within 7 miles of the stations, you just didn't get a signal.
Hell, we got KTVU 2 out of San Franfreako better on stormy days than Sac stations.
Wasn't until the mid 60s the stations pooled their money for a huge antenna, then we got a good pic.

I still watched the shows before then, one of the neighbor kids had a huge antenna on his house so we would spend a lot of time there.

Bill Kennedy at the Movies! I loved to watch that on Sundays. Remember "Mr Belvedere"?  I still remember the commercials by heart! "Call Tyler 87100 for a home improvement estimate--you'll look at it, love it, and take your time paying for it"

Then there was "Sir Graves Ghastly" and "The Ghoul" That was GREAT Detroit television!

Kennedy had had limited acting success but did find his niche introducing old films that CKLW-TV would air. (George Clooney's dad had larger similar success, in Ohio.) I think I saw every jungle feature there ever was, along with great mysteries with Charlie Chan, Dr. Fu Manchu, and kazillions more.

You wanna talk Day-twah Tee-vee there? You wanna get OLD school here?

"Which way did he go, which way did he go....."

"Get on the right track, to Nine Mile and Mack...."

And as for radio, I remember Bud Guest at WJR and Bud Davies at CKLW. Back before Sonny Elliott came to Channel 4. Back before everybody sounded like they went through Specs Howard's radio school.

Hell, I'm so old our first TV ran on whale oil.

Paul Harvey-my favorite listening personality from I don't know how far back.

As far as what I would do to make sure that America fails, that's easy.  Just let it go like it's going as I type.  We've already had our last warning, IMHO.
