Yep, the original core of the ZETA was trained as a counterinsurgency unit at the School of the Americas at Fort Bragg.  It would appear that the training was excellent!

Speaking from personal experience, third world savages don't need any supplemental training from the US Special Forces cadre in barbaric practises, they figured it out waaayyyy before Fort bragg.
