President Donald J. Trump Provides Resources For Veterans To Get The Care They Deserve From The Doctors They Want
VETERANS

  Issued on: June 6, 2018

My pledge to you, our noble warriors, is that my Administration will support you, and your loved ones, and your amazing families every single day, now and always.

President Donald J. Trump

FUNDING HEALTHCARE FOR OUR VETERANS: Today, the President signed legislation providing our veterans with the funding they have earned through their sacrifices for our country.

President Trump signed S. 2372, the John S. McCain III, Daniel K. Akaka, and Samuel R. Johnson VA Maintaining Internal Systems and Strengthening Integrated Outside Networks Act of 2018, or the VA MISSION Act of 2018.
America's veterans deserve timely access to the highest quality of care possible and funding for the programs that keep them healthy and well.
That is why President Trump and the Department of Veterans Affairs worked closely with Congress and Veterans Service Organizations to create draft legislation to support our veterans.
The VA MISSION Act provides $5.2 billion in mandatory funding for the Veterans Choice program until a new consolidated program is implemented, which provides veterans with flexibility to receive care at both Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and private health facilities.
Since its creation in 2014, more than two million veterans have used the Veterans Choice program and have scheduled more than 41 million appointments in their communities.

The US Govt in exile is quite steamed.

Punishment for veterans has been severely curtailed.

I can see a No vote based solely on a fiscal basis, but when you ask people to put their lives on the line to protect American interests, you have an obligation to see these injured can return to a normal life.
This has always been an issue for me, but I'm thankful for the American taxpayer for making me whole again, or rather, some semblance thereof.

Yep. There were several amendments, something like 20. Something in those may have influenced people to vote no. However considering the majority of no votes were from democrats and Bob Corker hates Trump I suspect most of those votes were simply anti Trump votes. Not to mention this sort of thing will have an impact on our overall healthcare system.

Thank you, but to be honest, it was a pleasure, and I'm honored and grateful for having been privileged to serve. I think I speak for many.

LOL, yeah, yeah, yeah.  That's how all you heroes react to praise.
I had 3 uncles who served during WWII.  NASTY, dangerous jobs.  Injured, but all made it home.  When I told them I thought they were heroes they ALL said, "Nah.  I was no hero.  Just doing my job, like all the other fellas."
When I asked them if there were any true heroes in their companies they responded, "Oh hell yes.  Quite a few."

They recognized heroism in the guys working beside them, but did not acknowledge it in themselves.

Gotta love those heroes.
