Did Republicans Compromise Too Much?

Yes
No

Doubtful, there are a lot of democrats from States like West Va.Pa and Va (to name a few) who will be just as opposed to any form of gun control.

I have heard everything that has taken place under this President called doubtful, at one time or another in my life.

Also remember that one of his tactics is to distract people from the sneaky things he is doing. Diversionary tactics.

He gets all mental about guns coz he knows that will set us off, and when we're pissed about guns he can sneak around playing with the fiscal cliff, signing EXO's for Congressional pay raises etc etc.

He doesn't need to sneak, he does what he wants right out in the open, nobody stops him, when congress refuses which is seldom, he writes an executive order. he hides nothing, he just does it.

You are correct and "sneaking" is probably a poor choice of words on my part, but since you just know what kind of underhanded dirty deals that never make it into print are going on with this fiend its the first thing that popped into my head.

But he does distract while he is doing it, like it is often quoted...'never let a crises go to waste'.

Lets just say it appears that way, because the media does as they're instructed by the DNC.
It amazes me how much damage this administration has done, and all under the watchful eye of the MSM, kind of like a lookout for a thief.

If not now, WHEN.  The GOP caved like a house of cards because they might get blamed.  Well they are going to get blamed anyway when the economy does not recover because they did not allow enough tax to be levied.  Now they say that they will take a stand on the debt limit. What a joke. Obama will say that they put the country at risk and once again afraid of being blamed will fold.   Tax cuts will be loop hole elimination (ie tax increase) and investment (ie Spending)  A financial crisis now is probably better than the one that will surely occur later.

When I heard that all the GOP was in compliance with their pledge not to raise taxes because the taxes went up Jan 1 so they actually were cutting taxes and not increasing them well it became obvious to me that the GOP is not really looking for a solution either and has no interest in pushing for any type of reform.  So these next two crisis that are looming in a few months will just be more of the same.  Bluster about how they plan to cut costs and then caving in so they do not take the blame. I do believe that in April of this year the end result will be more taxes and more investment (spending) and zero action towards reducing the dept.

Obama already said that he is not done taxing and that what we really need is more investment.  No tea leaves needed. The level of deficit is not going to go down at least in the next two years when maybe we can elect some people with real principles. The fact that the GOP will not even give a minimum of support to the Tea party who really just want smaller govt and less taxes yet gets treated like they are a radical organization.  What a shame.  I was a life long Dem until the party went into crazy land. I did not trust the GOP either but thought that just maybe they would push for the right things.  My hope is gone and anyone who has any thoughts that the next few months will show that the GOP is going to stand for fiscal austerity are just delusional.  They do not have the will to make enter the fray and fight it out.   Granted the media bias is pretty hard to stand up against but but for a few no one is ready to fight for what is right for the country.   Yes Ryan even voted for this disaster of a bill.

If the republicans were actually fiscal conservatives they would have balked at the pay increase. They have remained totally silent.

Actually they aren't silent, you just don't hear the MSM reporting on it.
