Actually they aren't silent, you just don't hear the MSM reporting on it.

This may show that they're not completely silent, but they still aren't doing anything that any body will hear or remember.

They could still get value out of this mess if they raise a huge ruckus about the cuts starting today, and start calling people damned liars every day it gets avoided.  Remind everyone how the dems lied and cheated in this exact same way, same issues, with Reagan and Bush 1, and also lied and cheated with Reagan on amnesty immediately, for border security that never happened.  Coordinate with talk radio like crazy.

Also announce no debt ceiling discussion until a we get a list of cuts from the WH.

Except they're too lazy, country club blueblood genteel, and self-sustaining to do anything hard core.

The dems-leftist-media do it all day, every day.  GOP can't be bothered, and the tea partiers aren't big enough to make the difference yet.

That's how you lose all the issues like this, and elections.

Obama says this is not a subject for debate. How can he dictate to the House what is debatable or not? Just another example of his arrogance. The debt ceiling is the card the GOP holds that can result in some actual cuts.

In any rational world Obama's arrogance and stonewalling would be up for discussion as something bad.

Not in DC or the media.  All that comes of it is surrender by the GOP power brokers.

How it's possible, I don't know.  But it's the standard outcome these days.

We will probably see a GOP cave on the ceiling, and never see any cuts.  And somehow this will never be a negative on Obama and friends.  Mind boggling, but it's happened how many times already  ?

Only remotely interesting thought right now......is Cantor bucking for speaker  ?  But will he do anything different than Boehner & McConnell, i.e. do nothing but try and keep the post no matter what.

Welcome to this forum, Andy.
Your reply mirrors exactly how I see this mess and to think, we've got almost 4 years to go IS mind bending.

This must be done and maybe the republicans can save face!
