Could this be why the Director finally decided he had better testify at the committee?

QuoteThe Republican Party Is Divided On Net Neutrality
Some conservatives want to pursue a legislative compromise. Others are urging more extreme means—and holding the FCC's funding hostage is not out of the question.

And a standoff over the FCC's budget isn't out of the question, either.

"Using the funding process could be another way," Thune said. "I don't think we're going to get into a DHS-type situation like this, but I do think that we could, by various riders on appropriations bills, attempt to send that message. So we'll see—I'm not ruling anything out."

Still, I smell another take-over by the administration.  Oh, they'll tie each other's hands in the Congress but just wait and see is all I'm saying.

I'm not sure about the senate but it looks like the house is out for blood to stop these overreaches by this administration. I see a fight coming not just on this but across the board with some of these agencies writing their own rules and changing law.
Remember the House has another shot at cutting these agencies budgets before September with the Debt ceiling authorization that runs out this spring! Watch the fireworks because at least the Tea and conservative representatives seem to be set on rolling back the deficits. Going to be an interesting year and they might as well start now!!

We can only hope they'll finally do the job they were sent there to do.  My patience is wearing thin.

Good God! the new congress has only been office 8 weeks.  sometimes it takes months and years to move anything. Give it time! So far I see them attempting to fulfill our agenda but everything will be a battle with this administration and the radical left that is still stopping everything. So far this has been a very active congress. It is the senate screwing things up. Patience is very important. Everything will be a fight. Some things will be lost but expect we will see some gains or gridlock will continue!!

That's the thing, the Right is tied by law and procedure, while the Marxist abuses power with an EO.
For Congress to do otherwise, would be to throw out our Republican govt and the rule of law..

I agree, we need to be patient.

The Senate democrats are on the defensive. It is clear from DHS situation. That being said McConnell needs to step up the pressure. It is obvious so far that the conservatives have gotten Boehner's attention in the House as he held the line on the DHS funding. I liked how he said the House had done its job and it was up to the Senate to pass a bill.

All I am saying is this.  No need to get testy with me, get testy with your state rep.  All I am is one of the little peons out here that chose to vote.  I want results after 6 damned years of corruption.  I speak from anger now and I've earned the right to say that enough is enough.  I've never been about gloom and doom and I'm not gonna' start on account of that pos in the WH or any of his lapdogs.

I'm not in our Congress but I have done all I could do make sure that SC had a good rep in our government.  I've paid taxes, helped even a family member with his campaign to run in our SC government, worked the polls, voted, even wore the stupid pins saying I voted (), and written all kinds of letters to our reps when I wanted to convince them of a certain attitude.  Other than that, I have always let my conservative values be known to family and friends or acquaintences.  It takes discipline to be a conservative and I've already earned my badge on that.  I'm not convinced that all of our duly electeds deserve the confidence that we have placed on them.

Some of these scandals in the WH have been festering more than a couple of years and we continue to show our confidence that they'll get things resolved.  I'm all for getting the job done and whenever I see all kinds of red tape, I get a little discouraged and might even say so.
