Obama always talked about the global economy - how all are interconnected and none could survive anymore without being global.

I've always felt that being global is making yourself dependent on all the other liberal economies. So if one goes bad, we all go bad. So it's best for any nation to decouple to the extent possible from the others so they can stand on their own. That's what makes a stable global economy. Not the crap BO was selling. A global contentedness just makes you vulnerable to global Marxists.

We're still highly interconnected with other countries - like China. They own a lot of the US economy. But Trump is taking us the first step to decoupling from the global economy. There's a long way to go. But once we become more independent we can make decisions that make more sense toward our own stability.

And this is why the EU is such a terrible idea. Greece employs terrible economic policies and when they go bankrupt every other country has to bail them out. The global economy is like the one guy on your street that gambles and drinks his paycheck away. When he can't pay his mortgage everyone else on the block has to chip in.

Not just Europe, Asia too.

At home, immediate upon news that passage of this tax cut was going to go through, scores of companies signaled that bonuses will be handed out to workers, wages would go up, employee investments would be increased, and philanthropic donations would get a boost as well. Economic growth for the fourth quarter is robust at four percent. Unemployment is at its lowest point in nearly 20 years. Consumer confidence reached its highest levels in 17 years.

Reminds me of that big speech Obama gave in Brazil, ended up saying, "We want to buy your oil."

Why do we want to become dependent on another nation for a strategic energy source?

That's the Globalist way of doing things, interdependency.   But, America, we already fought for our Independence...
