Is the tea party for slavery?

Don't you claim to be conservative?  You are asking too many questions about our ideology to be a conservative?

I propose the minimum wage be at least $25 per hour.

When did I claim to be conservative?

I am neither.  I make choices based off of the situation, which I might favor one party over the other.  But the idea that I favor one party all the time on every issue is just, well it is like belonging to a cult.

Why did you ask if we're for slavery as your first post in a minimum wage thread?

You can do this.

Well, if there is no minmum wage, then I feel you could pay somebody 0 dollars.

Slavery - and Jim Crow, and the welfare plantation has always been the work of the Democrats, the TEA party is - if nothing else - fiscally conservative.

On second thought, I think it should be $50 per hour.  Why stop at $25?

Oh wait, it may NOT be any employer's responsibility to provide what I have heard called a "living wage."  The employer pays what the job may be worth.  Most minimum wage jobs don't require high skills.

For example, as a registered nurse, I get paid a LOT more than minimum wage.  Why?  Because I have a SKILL that demands it.  But, it took me getting an education and a lot of hard work to make that.  That is only one example.

My own daughter makes minimum wage at a fast food restaurant part time.  She is a college graduate, that due to today's economy cannot find other work.  So, I do empathize.  But, her employer doesn't have to pay higher than that for the skill.  I blame the economy, not the minimum wage, for the problems of today.  Minimum wage was never intended to support anyone.

That's because, like I said in another thread, you aren't exactly up to speed on basic economics.

If you pay someone $0, then they won't work for you.  Would you work for $0?  If not, then why would you use this as an argument?

On the other hand, if someone was willing to work for "nothing," much as many young men did in the old trade apprenticeship systems, collecting knowledge, skills, room, and board in lieu of pay... What's wrong with that, exactly?

Of course not! Minimum wage laws are political gimmicks designed to enroll "poor" people in the Democrat Party. Someone may come along and try to convince you differently -- of course, I'm just "supposn" here -- but trust me. The minimum wage is a cheap political gimmick designed to divide and conquer voting blocs for the Democrats.
