No actually, South Korea would simply absorb the North. Of course then Korea would become even more of a powerhouse and a commercial rival to China, and China doesn't want that either.
More importantly, they don't want the West on their border, which is why they prop up the little dictator and help him keep the South on a permanent war footing..

Now, now ladies and gents, Mr. Trump can't help it.

He missed class on the day when they explained to the kiddies why it's illegal for a President to engage in political assassinations/assassination attempts like that.

He was busy out trying to find a new rug to throw on top of his head.

And why would you announce something like that?  He's devastating to America already.  One huge criticism of Obama is announcing our military plans.  What we have is a candidate announcing that he will engage in a foreign policy of assassinating foreign leaders.   I don't care that NK is one of the worst of enemies if not the worst.  You do not announce assassination plans.

He has already signaled to China and NK acts of war.

If the North Korean government collapsed there would be tens of millions of starving North Koreans...

Why should they collapse?

It's always good military-strategy to throw a scare into the enemy.

I'm not talking about jarrett/obama.  They're in-Office.  Amateurs who haven't a clue about leadership.

The Mongols, etc., used to send people into enemy camps/cities to stoke the flames of fear before an attack.  Cruz would tell you the same thing, but nobody's asked him about tactical-plausibilities involving North Korea yet.  -Use their fear of us as a weapon.

What's the alternative to not removing Kim if things get any worse?  Talking to 'im?  Paying him more US tax-dollars to behave?  Might as well keep Kerry's State Department on the case.

Not to put too fine a point on this, but did the President of the United States order, or NOT order, the firing of the missile that went into Quaddafi's tent? Then there's that matter of deposing Saddam Hussein and his gang of merry men. (Well, in the latter case we shot Uday and Husay and hanged the old man, but who's quibbling?)

But that was then and Trump and his lunacy is now. The guy from New YAWK who grew up in a city where mobsters assassinate each other, so what's to beef here about New York values?

No --- no New Yorkers ever, and I mean EVER as President of the United States. We've seen the damage a black moron from Chicago has caused. Anybody but Hair Today Gone Tomorrow.

Threaten them with Clinton in the White House.
