President Barack Obama has said no nation should rely on exports to the United States for growth.

He was speaking in Yokohama in Japan on the sidelines of the Apec summit.

Mr Obama said countries with a large surplus must take steps to boost domestic demand - in an apparent reference to China and Japan.

It sounds to me like Obama is saying that he fucked up the U.S. economy so bad that nobody in this country can afford to buy anything except the basics.

But it just sounds like a veiled threat, if you don't buy American products, we will retaliate.

Of course its a "threat", Japan is a capitalist nation and a big investor on Wall street.
