Hostess union employees still getting paid

If anyone was worried about how the union employees who participated in the strike that brought down Hostess were doing, then don't -- Hussein Obama is taking care of them.  And by them, I mean, the unions.  The unions do not fear putting a company out of business, because Hussein will be right there to continue filling the trough.

Unions are the enemy of this country.  We will not take this country back until we eliminate the unions.  It is simple as that.  They are a destructive force with direct access to our earnings -- directly by union employee head count and their taxes, and by taxes from non-union employees all over.

Hostess is still doing business:

The Twinkies are all in the State Department.

The Generals are taking care of all the Cupcakes.

The Secret Service is employing the Ho Hos.

And the Ding Dongs are all back in Congress.

Some how that doesn't surprise me.  My family was involved in a union battle in the mid 50's and we had windows shot our of our homes.  The union denied any involvement but the town had never had something like this happen until the union got involved.

Many unions perform what is basically unskilled/semiskilled labor. Much of the actual work is done by machinery. So if you're making $15 an hour doing unskilled/semiskilled work, and want a raise to $17 an hour, how exactly do you keep another unskilled/semiskilled worker whose making $7 an hour from taking the job you don't want at $15 an hour? The answer always comes down to violence of some sort or another.

I agree most Unions are unskilled workers yet want their members to be paid a career wage, not all jobs are careers but the unions haven't figured that out yet.

I console myself with the thought that eventually unions tend to price themselves out of a job. Somebody will invent a machine to do it. I was looking at a science program the other day, and it was showing the  various machines that now pick fruits and vegetables. Cesar Chavez really did a lot for those farm workers didn't he! The ones who still have jobs.

What took a month to do now can be done in one Hr. or day.    The Alfalfa cutting machines called swathers can now cut 1,700 acres with a 4 person crew in under 8hrs.  You condition and shape the windrow all at the same time.  Some time we can bale the very next day where I live.   Using three rakes and 5 balers

I was sitting watching the combine out in the field, as it came by, I noticed there was no driver.
I imagine he was sitting sipping coffee and keeping tabs with his laptop.

Good point, Giles. How long did it take until the union-official brakeman -- the one who used to ride in the caboose -- was eliminated from the construct of every train after the caboose was overtaken by the whiz-bang thing that rides the ass end of the trains these days?

Uh, now that I think about it, what was that brakeman doing there at all when his actual job had been eliminated a hundred plus years ago by Westinghouse's pneumatic brake system?
