Yes. There are those claiming "Libertarianism" that give true Libertarians a bad name.  I consider the Founders the true and original Libertarians.  When judging ideas I use my understanding of the Founding Fathers as my anchor.  On matters of morality, "Jesus" (actually Yeshua) is the foundational anchor to judge good and evil.

And you know what? As a Libertarian and an Atheist, I don't have a problem with that.

There are two kinds of Atheists. One is what I call an "Evangelical Atheist" - the one who is absolutely convinced that God does not exist  and will not rest until he convinces everyone he can that God does not exist.

Then there is my kind of Atheist. The kind who just has not seen proof that God exists, but does not have a problem with people who think differently. Some people call this an agnostic, but that really is not the correct term. An Agnostic is just an Atheist who doesn't have the courage to call himself that.

While I have said elsewhere that "good" and "evil" are somewhat subjective terms and really can't be used as absolutes, the concepts, however, can be fairly objective - if not carried to the extreme.

The concept of what is good can be found in many place, including the Bible and the Torah and in the teaching of just about every major religion there is. To ignore such concepts, simply because they are "religious" teachings is silly.

The trick is separating the "wheat" from the "chaff" so to speak.

Okay, hate crimes are stupid. Everyone should be treated equal under the law. If I bash a white man it should be no different if I bash a black man or a homosexual man. I think we both agree on that.

Gay marriage is not that though. Gay marriage is just treating everyone the same under the eye of government.

You're assuming there is some gay conspiracy out there to slowly take over. And allowing them to marry is the first step.
