I'll edit this with some history of shutdowns.
Carter had 6 shutdowns while in office, all put in place by Dim controlled Congress, yet still managed to function with a CR Bill, Continuing Resolution.
It wasn't until Reagan came along did the left attempt to use it as a political weapon, but it was Reagan they were attacking, so they backed off, not wanting to look unamerican, or as we discover later, Marxists.
Truth is, a shutdown is nothing more than a leftist media circus designed to give the appearance that a shutdown will cause people to starve, crime will run rampant in the streets, old people won't get medical care, food, or their SS check will bounce.
But we all learned the truth when the left shut down the govt and with the help of McCON-nel, blamed Cruz, as if Cruz had any power as a single Senator.
But what actually happened under that shut down? Well nothing essentially, in fact, Hussein told Park Services to go around and barricade open monuments because no one was feeling the pinch of failed govt. :lol:
With Obozos failure in mind and his proving a shut down only effects, ummm, well, govt and has little to no impact on the people.
So what actually happened here? The left played right into Trumps trap. Don't believe me? Watch the left try and squirm out of this, and in the end, giving up more concessions than they asked for in the end.

I still say this is political theater over that FISA/FBI Memo. THey want to delay and distract from it....must be something really, really damning. They could have punted on DACA.

Only time will tell, but this move by democrats could be a tremendous boost to GOP success in 2018. I am surprised at how well the GOP is sticking to the narrative of dems choosing illegals over Americans. That will resonate. Also, it does not hurt that Schummer is the poster boy for the dems. He does not play well in most of the country.

I guarantee they know more than they are telling us. This DACA distraction serves two purposes. First, the dems believe it will appease the base. However, their base can never be appeased. Secondly, it is a distraction from the memo. From reports on FNC about 200 GOP members have reviewed the memo and only one democrat has. That fact in and of itself is telling. Timing is important here. The truth must come out soon. If, by chance, the dems take the House this will never see the light of day.

I had the exact same thought - Scummer and Peglegosi are just trying to distract from what's about to drop. At least I hope that was their strategy - because it will fail. Unless of coarse the chain that would release the information are part of the shut down. Even then I think it's workable.

I heard an interview with Jason Chevetz (spelling?) yesterday. According to him releasing the memo is trickier than we thought. There seems to be some legal hoops that have to be overcome.

Jim Jordan was on Fox & Friends this morning and I sensed he was trying to downplay the explosiveness of the memo. With everything coming out of Washington, I want to see the facts before I buy into any of the BS coming out of there.

Here is a quick glance at how the senators voted to end the shutdown. Very interesting. All the far leftists voted against it except for Tester, Paul and Lee. Their opposition was based on fiscal reasons which I believe are legitimate.
