Title: Dims: Abolish presidency to save democracy
Post by: Solar on August 12, 2018, 08:49:03 AM
OK, I'd do 8 rows of , but I know how irritating that would look,  so I'll settle for one.
Whoever wrote this tripe, has zero understanding of our Republic, but then, is anyone really surprised as to how stupid the left really is?
I love his closing line, a perfect example of just how stupid the left is about what our Founders believed.

Because, as our forefathers believed, democracy is worth fighting for — even if you have to fight a mad king for it. Because, as our forefathers believed, democracy is worth fighting for — even if you have to fight a mad king for it.

Donald Trump is proof that the U.S. presidency is broken and democracy is in peril. It's time to amend the Constitution and abolish the presidency.

Enjoy a good laugh at leftists expense.

Daniel Greenfield explains this -

I know you're all thinking about President Trump.

He won and the establishment, the media, the democrats, rejected the results. They came up with a whole bunch of conspiracy theories to explain why he didn't really win. It was the Russians. And the FBI. And sexism, Obama, Bernie Sanders and white people.

It's easier to make a list of the things that Hillary Clinton doesn't blame for losing the election. It's going to be a short list.

A really short list. Herself.

The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it's not the first time they've done this.

The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn't really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There's a pattern here.

Trump didn't really win the election. Bush didn't really win the election. Every time a Republican president won an election this century, the Democrats insist he didn't really win.

Now say a third Republican president wins an election in say, 2024.

What are the odds that they'll say that he didn't really win? Right now, it looks like 100 percent.

What do sure odds of the Dems rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don't accept the results of any election that they don't win.

It means they don't believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections.

It frustrates me all to Hell when I hear a right wing pundit repeat this BS and use the lie of democracy. It's all thanks to our failed education system no longer teaching, instead, they indoctrinate.

The founding fathers knew of what you speak almost 250 years ago. That is why they set such a high bar to change the Constitution. Democrats hate the Constitution.

^This^ We have nearly as many ignorant swamp pubs that think we are a democracy. They all need to go back to school. I remember our 8th grade govt teacher explaining this. Of course that was like 40 years ago...

That's it right there, first, they claim it's a living document, and now they're doing the racist thing, claiming a bunch of "Old White Mne" wrote it when the nation still owned slaves, so this is their proof it needs to be replaced.
If any of these morons ever took the time to read it, they'd see its value.

Same here, only my history teacher was explaining the extreme differences, such as Nationalizing industry, and less taxation, essentially capitalism, as opposed to a govt controlled economy.
Libs just don't get it. Mob rule requires a totalitarian govt to succeed at which point you have no real Constitution or Bill of Rights.

I read the whole thing and I and dumber for it. This woman actually got the idea for this from Comedy Central.

She never got around to telling us what Trump has done that is authoritarian.

Abolishing the presidency is a major country altering move. Tweets should not be one of the reasons for doing it. This woman is actually dumber than Alexandria Lenin-Cortez.

Do you think it would do any good in this day and age.   School are now for brainwashing.  What our Founding Fathers really so hard for is not in class's in school now days.

I cringed out of embarrassment for the twit as I read every word. To me, it's akin to listening to a preteen girl telling me she knows everything because she watches CNN.

I'm pretty sure she inserts words and phrases such as "like" and "and stuff" into very sentence. She should be writing for Teen Vogue. Even if her editor is a rabid democrat how the hell he/she read that and said "great! we'll publish it" is beyond me.

Totally!

I wondered the same, but then, it is USAtoday, just another arm of the Deepstate.
I can't believe they think this will have an audience of believers. They just lowered the bar another 100'.

There is a pattern. First they attacked voter ID laws, then the  electoral college and now the actual executive office itself. It's because they can't win elections when they run as who they really are.

Yep, which is why they're realizing what a huge mistake they made in pushing a former bartender as the new face of the Dim party.
They're so desperate, they're making mistakes never before seen in the history of this nation.

All talk by the left. If they are serious, bring a motion to the senate to amend the Constitution. Put their asses on record!

What are the chances of seeing him replaced as senate majority leader after the midterms?

Zero to none. The senate is full of RINO's.
