The Department of Homeland Security is set to purchase a further 21.6 million rounds of ammunition to add to the 1.6 billion bullets it has already obtained over the course of the last 10 months alone, figures which have stoked concerns that the federal agency is preparing for civil unrest.

What about inflating prices?  I'm not below suggesting they'd slit their own throat to get us.

I tried ordering shotgun ammo on line just this morning and there are backlogs anywhere from 1 month out to May.  That's not so say ammo can't be found locally for now, but it's cheaper on line.  Nearly twice as much at a local gun shop.   I actually put an order in last month that's still on backorder.  Now some sites won't let you place an order.  They will take your email address and notify you when you can place an order.

Sportman's Guide and Cabela's are the two sites I went to.  There are a select few brands you can get but not what I wanted.

Like I said previously,

1. this is some whacko leftist idea to deprive american citizens of ammo, a gun is useless without ammo so the Govt is trying to buy it all up in an attempt at surrogate gun bans.

2. They are preparing for the mother of all battles

don't forget, the right reverend Jesse Jackass is calling for DHS to patrol Chicago.

If anything starts in will start in the inner city.

Two words....re load.  Most components can still be had with the exception of 40 caliber, 9mm, and 22 caliber rifle...for now

That has crossed my mind.

As an FYI....  I am always more than a bit skeptical on anything reported by infowars.

Absolutely agree!!!
But this article is a bit different in that it is full of links to Govt websites with the actual invoices.
He is a bit nuts, but he didn't write this one, in fact, you could almost say it wrote itself via the Govt.

One seriously has to question the intent behind this buy, less than 10 % of the purchase is for training ammo, and why do they need so many AR fully automatic rifles?

Something just doesn't add up, either we are paranoid, or the Husein administration is paranoid or preparing for war, a war that will have enough ammo to last 30 years?
I don't think were the paranoid ones here.

Being a tad paranoid has kept me alive more than once.

Hey bow went out yesterday to buy some Large Pistol Primers, I do prefer Winchester and they are getting hard to find. A few places said they will not get restocked for several months.

I wonder why at least Fox News is not asking why all the purchases of this amunition. I am not surprised the MSM is ignoring this.

I did find an article about the purchase. I am somewhat familiar with the training site in Brunswick, GA as I have a family member who is with Homeland Security and took training at the site.

Obama's got such an all-encompassing mosaic of little tactics on all of his agendas, I'm pretty certain that using taxpayer money to buy up all the ammo on the market is just a piece of gun control.  They met somewhere in the last 3 years, and this was just one of 100 ways to screw up the sales and use of guns.
