In just Pensylvania alone....

Nearly 46,000 Pennsylvania Democrats have switched to Republicans since the beginning of the year.

The numbers are similar in other states as well.

According to Penn Live, some experts attribute the mass exodus to Donald Trump.

There's even a title for the movement. It's called "Ditch and Switch" and calls for lifelong Democrats to abandon the party, register Republican, and help ensure Trump's place in the general election.

It was just 3-4 years ago, I'm be listening to the radio around midnight, and hear the coal mine shift reports.
They'd call out each mine, if it was a normal shift, or just part of the staff to report.... etc., Obama probably wasn't taken seriously, when he said he'd bankrupt the industry.   When Hillary said it - maybe they figured she was the vindictive type & switched to Trump.

I was wondering why they carried Hussein twice after he said that.  Then I see the report on one of the channels a few months ago where the ex-miners are complaining about their lives now.  I couldn't help but not feel sorry for them.

Interesting to note, the Dems always promise "retraining" and "High-tech jobs" - making the false assumption these miners aren't making a good living with good wages.

When the textile mills & furniture plants started closing around these parts, they said "Healthcare! get yer nursing degree!"... and it flooded the market with low wage people with crap for bedside manner.   For those who went after the IT jobs, it depressed the wages so badly, with people who lack the logic to seriously troubleshoot - the good people started moving on to other things... just to make a decent wage.

When they told the Tobacco Farmers to quit growing it, and get into Garlic .... well, guess what happened to them - leaving a very profitable, cash crop for a cheap spice?  They subdivide the farm and sell out.

The government is good at giving really short-sighted, poor advice to everyone - which winds up flooding the market, dropping demand & prices and destroys their livelihood.

You so nailed it right there.  That's why I always laugh at these initiatives to "teach kids to code", etc.
