I suppose this belongs under News of the Obvious (particularly the part in red).....

QuoteA newly named GOP chief of staff called the outgoing Democratic majority — and in particular Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) — "garbage."

Joyce Kaufman, the incoming chief of staff to Rep.-elect Allen West (R-Fla.), said: "Over these months I have been blessed to form very wonderful relationships with the West family. I looked at this family and [told] myself, 'How do you not fight and put them up on the pedestal when we've got this garbage up on the pedestal now, people like Nancy Pelosi?' "

Kaufman, a conservative South Florida radio personality, made the comments on her show Tuesday.

Kaufman, who's hosted her own talk radio show since 2001, is no stranger to controversy. In 2007, she told her audience that illegal immigrants found committing crimes should be killed and then deported.

"If you commit a crime while you're here, we should hang you and send your body back to where you came from, and your family should pay for it," she said, according to the Miami New Times.

In the same year, she also canceled her contract with Comcast after she was asked to "press 1 for English" when calling the help line, the New Times reported.

Kaufman was an early backer of West and proved one of his staunchest supporters over the course of the campaign. During the campaign, West was a frequent guest on Kaufman's radio show.

West, an Iraq war veteran backed by the Tea Party, is the first black Republican elected from Florida to Congress in more than a century. He's made headlines in recent days for his wish to join the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), a historically Democratic group that hasn't had a GOP member since 1997.

Such a charming and accurate assessment of Nancy Pelosi (D-Botox). Nice to see Allen West is such a shy and retiring type that he'd name Kaufman his COS, anyway.

Oh. More. Another Hill.com story....

QuoteKaufman was an early backer of West and proved one of his staunchest supporters over the course of the campaign, but the host has been roundly criticized over some of her past comments on illegal immigration. She also gained attention for demanding a Florida supermarket chain cease handing out calendars that marked Dec. 7 as the Islamic New Year and not Pearl Harbor Day.

Here's what Kaufman said at a campaign event in July: "I don't care how this gets painted by the mainstream media. I don't care if this ends up on YouTube, because I am convinced that the most important thing the Founding Fathers did to ensure me my First Amendment rights was that they gave me a Second Amendment. And if ballots don't work, bullets will."

I have a lot of respect for Col. West and like him a lot.  This Chief of Staff, isn't doing him much good though.  He's much more measured and not a bomb thrower, like she seems to be.  Although that is  red meat for the far right, I believe that inflamatory rhetoric only hurts the cause. Unless you are able to follow through and do something constructive to dismantle the opposition and help your candidate/Representive-elect, empty rhetoric makes this woman sound like a right wing Alan Grayson.  Now's a time to get to work, not throw out controversial statements that don't do any good and can only alienate people from the newly elected conservative Represtative from Florida! The election is over!  Now the hard work begins!!!

Kaufman has quit the West team after an incident described here....

QuotePOMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- A conservative radio talk show host will not serve on the staff of a newly elected congressman, after her connection to a countywide school alert.

As a result of the investigation into a threat that lead to the lockdown of all schools in Broward County, Wednesday, Joyce Kaufman announced on her WFTL radio show, the following day, that she will step down as Chief of Staff to Republican U.S. Rep.-elect Allen West. "Last night, I called congressman-elect Allen West, and I told him I would not be able to accept the position of chief of staff for Congressional District 22," she said.

According to sources, something Kaufman had said at a tea party rally, set someone off to write a threatening email to that station, early Wednesday morning. During that rally Kaufman said, "If ballots don't work, bullets will." MSNBC aired the clip on Rachel Maddow's TV show, where Maddow offered to introduce viewers to the new crop of conservatives entering office as a result of the Nov. 2 elections.

Kaufman said she did not want to take anything away from West with this media scrutiny, which she blamed on the "liberal media," so she decided to step down from her Chief of Staff position for the congressman-elect. "It put me into a horrifying position with death threats, with people writing emails, that ended up resulting in an entire county locking down its schools for one lunatic who doesn't even live in our community."

I miss Florida politics.  When I was living in Orlando the past year, I was living in Grayson's district.  There is no way that guy could ever get reelected.  I miss Florida.
