Democratic race for Speaker turns nasty
BY JONATHAN EASLEY AND ALEXIS SIMENDINGER

The race among Democrats to be the next Speaker of the House is turning nasty.

So far, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is the only candidate running. It seems likely, once the dust settles, that Pelosi will be the next Speaker when Democrats assume the majority in January.

But that doesn't mean the process will be easy or pretty.

Scott Wong and Mike Lillis are reporting that at least 17 Democrats have banded together and are committed to blocking Pelosi's bid for Speaker on the House floor during the final vote early next year (The Hill).

That would result in chaos, but some Democrats are so eager for new blood in leadership that they believe it's a fight worth having.

"This is a fight and she's a very worthy opponent, but it's time." – Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-N.Y.).

Pelosi's allies – she has many and they are powerful – are furious and ready to go to war with the dissenters.

I pity those `rats that are causing the fight against Pelosi. They'll find their offices in sub-basement levels, and will be outcasts in CONgress. ButI do like the fact that they are against the old hag and giving her fits.

I believe they will pick Fuglosi, however, it's like winning a lottery, where you have a choice of prizes between guillotine or slow death by fire.

The party is in its death throes of what is has been over the last 40 years, a party the nation rejected, is now being taken over by Marxists and foolish gullible kids that have no idea what that entails.
She may win, but in truth, there is no turning back to the path of failure. The real question is, can she unite these two factions? Nah...

It will be interesting to see what a Pelosi controlled House accomplishes during her tenure. We can assume that most of their time will be spent undermining the President, armor plating commiecare, helping the illegals and destroying the economy.

The democrats' worst nightmare just might be having a house majority for the next two years. They will give Trump plenty of ammunition for 2020.

This has really been my thought ....... dems going full retard, with Pelosi going full dementia, will really be much better for Trump / GOP in 2020, than having a GOP house.

GOP house would be "meh" .... and the dems screaming bloody murder about everything, inciting their base.  A dem debacle is much better.

I wonder what kind of meds Pelosi must guzzle 24/7, to stay even halfways coherent.  It will be crazy to see her getting even worse than she is.  Could open the door for a nasty discussion on whether reps or senators .......... should be allowed to actually be insane or non-functional.

I guess that's the only upside of having her as the speaker.

ALWAYS look for the positive.

Agreed! After the dems are through with their House circus, the results of the 2020 election will have them on the outside looking in.

If I were in their shoes I would think twice, three, four times before crossing Pelosi.  I would not put it past her to do WHATEVER SHE NEEDS TO DO to eliminate her opposition.  Woman scares the beejeebers out of me.

This is where we step back and let them assemble the firing circle.

She does have the arrogant, regal, nasty outlook that John Boehner used to have.

But she's not capable of understanding her own dementia, the growing movement of youth / radicalism in the dem party, the power of Trump, and so on.

So this is new.  She's a sad, pathetic, mentally ill old gal who doesn't understand that it's not 1975, and she's not just starting out with her daddy's money and mafia.  She doesn't understand anymore that 45 years have passed.

It's sad, but still a great screwup to mine against the dems.

Not if you are a democrat.
