But more importantly is what he said after that. It's an admittance of what I've been saying for a long time, that the base abandoned them, leaving behind only Marxists to support the party.

Democratic Congressman: Yes, My Party Is Out Of Touch With Voters, Even Those Who Used To Support Us
Last Friday, Massachusetts Democratic Congressman Seth Moulton appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe to pretty much reiterate what his Michigan colleague, Debbie Dingell, has been saying for months, which is that the Democratic Party has to listen to voters again.

The wounds of the 2016 campaign are being re-opened thanks to Hillary Clinton's new book, What Happened, in which the former first lady offers her account of the election. She also takes swipes at Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, the media, Barack Obama, James Comey, and sexism for torpedoing her presidential hopes.
It's something the Democrats don't need right now, but alas—it happened. The divisions between the establishment and progressive wings of the party have been rehashed.

During the show, Moulton said that he feels the Democratic Party hasn't learned anything from 2016, and that a  true self-evaluation is still absent. He knows the game: The GOP controls the White House, Congress, two-thirds of the governorships, and 69/99 state legislatures. The party is in its worst shape since the 1920s. It's not a national party. It's not in a position to become a governing party. Moreover, he said that his party didn't just 2016, but several elections before that.

"If we don't realize that we are partly to blame for that; that we've lost touch with a lot of American voters; we've lost touch with a lot of voters who used to be on our side—then, we're not going to be able to move forward, " he said.

Let's hope they don't figure it out.

I believe they all know the truth, problem is, the head of the DNC is a full blown commie that is projecting to what little base is left and they're nothing but Marxists.
The party has but one option, move Right of the gop'E, which really isn't all that hard, I even wrote Feinstein and advised her as such.

The failure continues unabated.

The Democrats, as this article points out, have almost abandoned state politics. They continue to lose at the state level except in the bluest of states. Consider the changes in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio and Pennsylvania in the last decade.

It appears that the Democrats are fighting national battles and not engaging in local politics.

If that trend continues, in the long run, because the strength of state parties and houses significantly impacts Congressional elections, it could mean that the House will continue to lean Republican as well as the Senate.  In other words, the Democrats maybe positioning themselves to just compete for the Presidency.

NY Post's Zito:

"Republicans, at some level, are competing in every state up and down the ballot, while Democrats are not competing anywhere but on the coasts and in the big cities. In short, they are a regionalized party, confined to the most densely populated parts of the nation — more cut off and compartmentalized than the GOP."

Democrats feel if they can control the big cities they can control the states.

I see NY City is offering to pay homeless a year's worth of rent if they leave town.

What did they think was going to happen with the election of Obama? That was the plan. Obama was the smiley happy safe face of socialism. No more baby steps. With Barry and his merry band of Marxists the party could be true to itself. Obama gave birth to Bernie and his silly "revolution".

After the Harvey Weinstein kerfuffle being out of touch with voters is the least of their problems. The issue is them touching voters....

Spot on Boo...
I spoke on this over a decade ago, how the Dim party was pushing it's agenda too fast, that the frog was feeling the boil, then suddenly, a half black, "clean negro" no-name Marxist enters the fray. (Biden reference)
Out of nowhere, with zero experience he is thrust onto the scene, no one knows a thing about him, but the party did, they knew he was the face of Marxism they'd been waiting for, though far sooner than they were ready for, they seized the moment anyway.

The Marxist went on to destroy the economy, drive up production costs through higher energy costs and it was all planned with the help of the global warming scam.
Thing is, it was all too soon, the Baby Boomers, the ones old enough to connect the dots, add 2+2 were still alive and still held the majority.
The Dim party's demise is their own fault, had they been patient, we'd have been a socialist nation by 2030 and dismantling the Constitution as well as the Bill of Rights would have been a natural occurrence.

This whole era will perplex future historians as well. They too will question the sanity of both party's as we are doing today.
But one thing is certain, the Dim party will take years to find a place back at the table, assuming the GOP doesn't set them a place at the table.

Every so often... if you've got the *right* guy in office, a guy that's almost immune from impeachment (Obama), it's perfect for a 'moon shot'.  If you make it, you've got it!  If you can't make it, at least you've royally screwed up *everything* for the next guy, who'll spend most of his/her time trying to undue the stuff you've put in place, and unload the staffer/moles, well placed to sabotage his effort.

Getting that long-shot guy into office, just finding the right guy, is hard enough - I think Barry was it.  With any "luck", the residual effects, re-educating the next generation will also take hold, and the overall agenda would have still moved dramatically left.   We have such an uneducated bunch of kids out there, they think the 1st amendment (free speech) does not apply to Conservatives.   Two steps left, one step back.  They went for 20 steps with Barak Obama, the useful idiot who kept spilling the beans on the goals, but, what they got was quite a leap to the left, a generation to reverse, IMO.  Remember Biden's comments about a 'clean Black guy' - that was call to Liberals, "Hey guys, we got someone here the GOP can't touch, let's go for it ALL."  GOPe fell back, when they should have been exposing Obama's Marxism, they believed Biden's comments & retreated... or as we really understand, pretended to be stymied, feckless, powerless to stop him.

The Democrats are expecting the general public to 'catch up' to the more Marxist Democratic Party positions.  The next two elections, if the Dims get blown out, OK, so they went too far - but did the country *move* further left?

That's the problem, they are leading, left. They don't care one iota about the constituency, we're not the ones sending them money, it's the lobbyists and special interest groups, like Soros. (see McStain).
