I cut up all my credit cards a few years back. I haven't owed money on a car note in years. And my mortgage will be paid off in less tuan 8 years even if I don't pay it off early. Owing others is a bad idea for many reasons. It's better to own a smaller he an and older car than it it to owe money. Just learn to make due with less. I did and I wouldn't trade my situation for anything.
We paid off our 30 yr home loan in 15 years and now we have no debt. We carry one credit card in case of an emergency, particularly when traveling. I use the ATM card a lot, and that saves me from having to carry a lot of money. Life is good. It's a bit of work to get in this position, but it's well worth it.
Same, I had a drawer full of credit cards...I cancelled them and watched my credit score drop a 100 pts, took a year to get back up. I have one credit card from my credit union with an incredibly low interest rate. I used it almost exclusively for online purchases
I left bank america when they decided to give illegal aliens credit cards without any verification couple of years now I guess...they did me a favor
If you're under 55 then social security probably will not be there for you. If you are under 50 then it definitely will not be there for you. So what is a person to do? If you have zero debt and own both your car and house outright then you can live very cheaply. Then with a modest savings and a part time job, yu can get by.
The real bear is going to be medical. When Medicare fails the insurance alone will be over one thousand dollars per kith. And that's if you don't get sick.

Because you are personally responsible for every bad choice everyone else ever made and you must pay. Take your pick. Racial justice. Economic justice. Historical justice. Environmental justice. They all mean it's your fault and the only way to fix it is to take what you've earned and give it to all those other "victims" who are suffering from the consequences of their bad choices that are, of course, your fault.

Interesting you would say that. As a "government" employee in various capacities over the years I have often heard how it is never their fault (the client - ie criminal or handout recipient) and somehow the rest of us are to blame.
I miss the days when someone would actually say "I screwed up and I will fix it." ::)
Liberals can't do a damned thing without first defining the victim. And it's not going to change until we start purging them from government.
