Wow! a year, that will keep them in business.   California just will not be out done by the Seattle area.

"Businesses with fewer than 25 employees would have an extra year to comply."

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California legislators and labor unions on Saturday reached an agreement that will take the state's minimum wage from $10 to $15 an hour, a state senator said, a move that would make for the largest statewide minimum in the nation by far.

Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, told The Associated Press the proposal would go before the Legislature as part of his minimum-wage bill that stalled last year.

The Los Angeles Times, which first reported the deal, said the wage would rise to $10.50 in 2017, with subsequent increases to take it to $15 by 2022. Businesses with fewer than 25 employees would have an extra year to comply.

More businesses will leave and there will be higher unemployment.  CA government is liberal and stupid.
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

What impact will this have on food prices? CA produces much of the country's produce.

We've already lost a lot of farms because of Sacramento cutting off the water.  They would rather protect the Delta Smelt.

I don't know if there would be a big change regarding agriculture.  They have different labor standards, as some laborers are also provided housing/food as part of their pay.

The impact it will have is this.

The price you pay for a bunch of grapes, is going to go through the roof overnight.

And it's not just with agro like that either.

It's wines, of various sorts too.

Anything produced in CAL will cost so much, other states will start looking elsewhere.

As will companies. Shortly thereafter, California's entire economy will be like that of Detroit.

Well, if those liberal progressive wackos are going to bring their politics down here to TEXAS, then we don't want them coming here; move to Nevada which caters more to their brand of society -- & where all forms of legalized gambling & prostitution are the norm rather than the exception.

As per raising the minimum wage to $15/hr, it will only lead to spiraling inflation until which time either thing rises proportionally to the next level, where entitlement expenditures will rise but where senior citizens won't see the same degree of increase, if any at all except a COLA (cost of living adjustment) which under the Obama regime has only allowed two such COLAs..!!

California's Carl's Jr. (and Hardee's) restaurants just moved their corporate HQ to Nashville, Tennessee... which was kind of an eye-opener.

No word on the individual franchises, but that company was like a California mainstay.

Franchisees in California will get hammered unless they are very busy enough to absorb the wage increase. Idiot leftists don't realize franchisees don't have the financial backing of the corporation.

You shouldn't have any trouble finding land. There are only seven people in the whole state. Coincidentally all named Kevin.
