To be honest, I wish I knew more about this but I do not have all the info, I do not think you do either. Of'course it is not nice but both of our governments didn't do many "nice" things, I'd rather not be simplistic.

I feel like I'm always stuck defending my country if I ever join a "foreign" forum, I know I don't have to. Your Left-leaning media has been so awful lately that this segment (correct word?) that I linked to was a refreshing change.
Is my country your #1 enemy? It makes me sad that Americans feel this way but I can't change your mind, just hoping you keep your mind open and please consider what your own government has done in foreign countries over the years as well.

This isn't about the US, this is about shooting down an airliner and arrogantly blaming the airline for the loss of life, and never once apologizing to the families affected.
It's that historical Russian arrogance that will always keep Russia down and the reason so many to date refuse to believe Putin has good intentions towards the rest of the world.

Don't kid yourself, no one here trusts Putin any further than they can throw him, but we are willing to move forward, as Reagan so eloquently stated, "Trust, but Verify".
Putin has a long way to go in gaining world trust, and owning the evils of the USSR would go a long way in repairing this distrust.
He was after all, head of the FSB, formerly known as the KGB.

I definitely do not and I have never voted for him :) But without him, my country would be ripped apart by Islamists and at the end of the day (i mean in conclusion), he fiercely loves his motherland and acts accordingly, which I respect.

Being over twice your age.   MY number one enemy is big government, controlling every aspect of our lives.  Be it mine or yours.
