Feinstein should have started by saying, "Thank you, Senator.  That's an excellent question to help explain this proposal to the American people."  She could have been the wise, experienced Senator – a leader – or a statesman, perhaps. She could have really taken Cruz to the cleaners and killed him with kindness.

Did she?  Nope.

In a tone somewhat reminiscent of sixth grade, she essentially started with, "I'm not a sixth grader."

So much for that Democratic homerun.

Goodies For The Opposition

Feinstein gave the following little nugget of political gold to her opponents.  She told Cruz, "You use the word 'prohibit.'  It exempts 2,271 weapons.  Isn't that enough for the people in the United States?"

Those who hold an expansive view of the Second Amendment might interpret her words like this: Americans don't really have a right to weapons, so out of the magnanimity of our Congressional hearts, we'll let you people have 22-hundred or so exemptions.

Diane is a registered concealed gun carry advocate.  How can she go get a CHL and yet go on and on about gun control.  We are headed down hill and congress doesn't care and Obama is clueless.  What  a mess we have.
