What needs to happen is more education Daisey, most Americans are, when you examine their beliefs, more in line with Conservativism or libertarianism/Constitutionalism.

Not liberalism as it exists within the DNC which is what I call Nazism.

I agree that ultra liberalism isn't most people's values.  Most people DO NOT research the way we do.  So, they are left captive to the MSM, which is solidly democrats.

I try in my personal life to counter it.  For example, my brother and his wife are union members.  They are told by their union to vote Democrat.  They are not liberals in their own lives.  However, they are told things like "Republicans are going to take away your unemployment."  Yep, that's why they voted Obama TWICE.  I don't even want to talk to them hardly!

So, you have LIV's getting their message from the MSM, comedy shows (one of my sister-in-law's favorite is Jackass and Honey Boo Boo), their union propaganda, or they want their "gimmies."  They are told Sarah Palin is stupid, Mitt Romney doesn't understand them, blah blah blah.

Wish I had the strategy to deal with this.

Try this:

Why will republicans take away your unemployment?

Are you afraid of being layed off?
"If you can't run with the big dawgs, stay on the porch!"

daidalos

I would ask them just "Are you afraid of being layed off?" then ask them who is responsible for the fear they'll be laid off. Ask them just who's policies is it, which is harming the economy so badly? Because it's things like Obama care which are creating the economic instability. Not only that, but Obama's other pet project, the illegals. Another Democrap policy, which is creating the very economic instability, which makes the union workers have to worry about layoffs.

I know Daisey how it is dealing with liberal relatives. My aunt and uncle God love em, are good, decent, hardworking, Christians, but were union employees all their lives. My uncle worked for GE aviation building the jet engines our fighters use today. But because of the unions being solidly in the pockets of the Democraps, he and my aunt were told stupid lies like the "Republicans will take away your unemployment" crapola and now vote Democrap every time.

They did not however vote for Obama, because they believed, and rightly so I might add, that Obama sat in a "church" following a cultist named Jeremiah Wright for twenty years. They believed that the doctrine practiced at that church, was NOT a Christian Doctrine and thus is a cult. Again rightly so.

And they didn't want a cultist running our nation.

Yes, I agree with you the MSM helped elect Obama, there is no doubt.  I think Americans on both sides are fed up.  Certainly in my mind, I would love to see a 3rd party; but I definitely think I'm in the minority on that issue.  I think Cruz would make a great president, but I don't see him leaving the Republican party.  The only one I see making a run for it on a 3rd party ticket is Paul ... he's already been labeled as a Libertarian, so switching parties wouldn't be such an issue.

Statistically there are appx. 62 million registered Democrats and 47 million Republicans.  I don't see a huge chance for a successful 3rd party candidate.  Cruz is already associated with the Republican party, that's not going to go away.  Paul is under the Republican umbrella but the media has him labeled as a Libertarian ... so I feel he has the best shot at a 3rd party win.

I really think, every thing hinges right now on the November elections. At the least of course I hope the Republicans keep their seats in the House.  At best the Republicans will take both Houses, and if they manage to accomplish things Obama and the Democrats will be trying to take full credit.
Do you have any idea as to how many 3rd party's already exist?
And look how well they fare every election.

You change the Party from within by DE-FUNDING the GOP as an organization, but give until it hurts to those INDIVIDUAL candidate you support.

Interesting.  The 'zine is called "The Hill."

Center-left leaning in overall coverage. At least it's not Chinese-owned like Real Clear Politics just became.

My earlier point exactly!

LIFESUCKS-SHOOTME

I love Ted Cruz and frankly, I don't know what you are talking about.

It is the moderates, in my opinion, who are ruining the R party and this country

Anyone who has integrity is shoved aside in US government, it seems, but of course, not by EVERYONE or Ted Cruz would not be so popular.

You sound like a leftie. Good luck on that one... God is not a liberal... not even remotely (except in the sense that He forgives our sins when we do not deserve it, which we never do

The GOP is the party of Coolidge, Lincoln, Taft, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Nixon and countless of principled congressmen, governors and senators. Government is not inherently evil and as a conservative im not naive as a liberal viewing it as inherently good from which free welfare comes from or am i a foolish libertarian or libertine viewing government as inherently totalitarian which should always be repressed. There has always been different faction eithin GOP like all other major parties and it would be better to have it unified and get compromise internally than forcing a splinter that would cause factions to seek compromise externally with democrats or radical libertines/libertarins.

Hoping to see a rejuvanated and strong unity driven GOP preferably with Ted Cruz leading the way, people who chants for Cruz to split the party will br severly dissapointed as he is real GOP to the core.

And lets hope they change the logo ffs :p

One way in which we, who do know better, can educate those who do not among our fellow citizenry is to call the RINOS and so called "moderates" what they are. RINOS and these so called "moderates" within the RNC are liberals in disguise. Please note the period there too.
