I attended CPAC and wasn't surprised that Rand Paul won the straw poll. There was a large contingent of RP supporters in attendance. The large room was packed with many people having to stand. His supporters are young, vocal and extremely loyal. His speech was good when it focused on personal freedoms,
Not all republicans are conservatives; some of them are jackasses...uh, democrats.

Exactly! They always skew every poll where his name appears (Paulbots), so I'd actually put him somewhere in the middle, to lower end in the poll in truth.

I'd give Walker the win since he polled well and didn't bus anyone in.

These others should pack up and go home. If they can't pull double digits after in some cases years of positioning what is the point. Look at Lindsey Graham!

All Paul did was reinvigorate his campaign a bit.  It'll slump back.  It's really a straw 'vote' though.  Not a poll with multiple-choice qualifiers.

Rand Paul wants no more lives thrown away in Iraq. I like that. Nice to see the bloodthristy warmonger candidates did poorly, expecially the hated  Rubio.

Graham does not have a snowball's chance, but it didn't take a straw poll to figure that one out

We still don't know if Graham has a penis. One thing at a time.

No doubt many do want an illegal flood tide like Rubio does. Rubio is despicable.

Paul is not a conservative. He is a libertarian.

If the election were held today? Sure, but we are still two years out, so this is nothing more than candy and shiny distractions for the week. Nothing to get excited about.
