Title: China turns back NK coal ships, places "massive" order with US
Post by: taxed on April 12, 2017, 01:52:07 PM
Can anyone imagine Hussein pulling something like this off?

http://therightscoop.com/report-china-rejects-north-korean-coal-orders-from-us-now/

QuoteChina has sent a flotilla of North Korean freighters loaded with coking coal back to their home ports, according to an exclusive Reuters report. Meanwhile, China has placed massive orders for the steel-making commodity from U.S. producers.

Information on the Thomson Reuters Eikon financial information and analytics platform revealed that 12 freighters were returning to North Korea.

Reuters attributed news of China's rejecting North Korean coal to a trading source at Dandong Chengtai Trade Co., which is the biggest buyer of North Korea's coal.

The Dandong Chengtai said it had 600,000 tons of North Korean coal sitting at various ports and that there were 2 million tons stranded at Chinese ports to be sent back to North Korea, Reuters said.

The move reflects China's public commitment on Feb. 26 to join other nations in punishing North Korea for its continued nuclear weapons and ballistic missile development program. China said in February it was suspending North Korean imports for the rest of this year.

China is North Korea's largest source of trade and aid and targeting coal imports are meant to deprive Pyongyang of an important source of foreign currency.

China told the little Troll last year he better get in line or they would kill his only form of income, Coal.
It looks like they just sent him a serious message.
What do you tell your people when they ask, "do we really need nukes over food?"

Or more. That coal was to buy food for next winter to keep the prisoners alive that mined it.

When I was there in 73, it was like looking back in time, if you were fortunate enough to own an ox, you were considered wealthy, otherwise, all farming was done manually, and every year consisted of removing rocks from your plot of land. But they all had radios and some even had TV's.
This was South Korea, North Korea was behind them technologically speaking, by another 100 years.

I see SK has finally caught up with the 21st century, but NK is still stuck in the past, which is why the satellite pic at night is all dark.

I watched a couple of SK movies a couple of months ago - still can't figure out what the title is/was - something like "My Wife is a Gangster" - they're about on par with Hollywood movies, with some hilarious jokes - all subtitled.  Not anything I would have expected from Korea.

Compared to the typical Hong Kong Kung Fu movie - with the horrible translations (funny subtitles & screwed up dubbing), the Korean stuff is much better, and partially "western-ized" to be understandable.

Now those North Korean videos ... have the look of a '60s saturday morning cartoon.

I saw the French Connection when I was there, in 6 different languages and dubbed in Korean, the Engrish was tso butchered taht you had to spot nad fhink aboet tit. Oh, and it was below freezing in the theater, they don't didn't heat them in the winter.

One thing they're producing is what amounts to as Disney pop called K_Pop, cute adorable young tarts who dance to bubble gum music, quite interesting stuff.
But with that said, I did see what I considered the best Chinese movie I've ever seen in my life called Kungfu Hustle, if you haven't seen it, watch it, it's funny as Hell and packed full of over the top action.
Of course, it has subtitles, but truth be told, you could turn the sound off and still get the plot. I highly recommend it.

But back to the subject, this should be rather interesting, in that Kim will now be forced to calm himself in his antics.
Question will he rebel against his masters or will he STFU and do as he's told? We should know soon enough.

This one had a scene with the classic "language barrier" between a chick and a guy - (or course, neither speaks the other's language), even with subtitles, it's funny.  I've got to be in the mood for poorly dubbed Kung Fu movies, and when I am.... it's a marathon weekend or two.   Kung Pow takes it to a new level of hilarity, Shaulin Soccer (sp) another purposely funny one.

He did say, it would be a BIG EVENT.    And probably dumb enough to say to himself, "If I can't rule North Korea, nobody is gonna get this paradise!"

Kung Pow and Shaulin Soccer, or did you mean Sorcerer?
I'll look for both, thanks for the tip.

We own both - Kung Pow! Enter the Fist, is gut busting funny, especially if you've endured terrible dubbing and the exaggerated sound effects of Kung Fu movies.   Rewatch it again, with "The director's commentary" - (also the main actor), funny explanations throughout.

Comments like:
"As a whole it's pretty bad but each indivudual joke it hysterical."
"WEEOO WEEOO"
"I am bleeding. Making me the victor" (terrible dubbing)
The dog barking with the delayed dubbing...

This one is a funny, campy, love story about a soccer team.

Good luck finding "My Wife Is a Gangster" - there are at least 3 of them, modern Kung Fu - comedy inserted... (Couching Tiger, Hidden Dragon kind-of-stuff, drama), Korean cinema.   I can't find any of them in english, subtitles are still get the plot across.

Come to think of it, "My Wife Is a Gangster" movies would probably be popular with "our dear leader" in North Korea.
