By the way Wally, good find on that article.
Solar, my Sun;  ;D

I'm both amazed and frustrated by the fact that most people who haven't lived on this earth for at least the last fifty or so years are so blind to what the Chinese Communists really are and what their long term strategic goals have always been.  Ronald Reagan used the tools of capitalism to bankrupt and ultimately bring down the USSR.  Now both Russia and China and many of our enemies "advasaries" around the globe, are using the same technique to attack our economy.

*<Nikita Khrushchev> once said that The United States did not have to be conquored because it would evolve towards communism and eventually collapse under the weight of capitalism.  The True Believers, who are communists, socialist, marxists, fascist Thugs don't care what happens to their own people, they are concerned about the ends which justify the means!  If they must fall on the sword and loose a few million souls; so be it, as long as they achieve their end.  The goal of all such tyrannts has always been the establishment of a One World Communist Empire!

The Chi-COM Rulers will share power with other Commies, as long as they get a porpotionate share of the plunder of the resouces of this world!  The truth behind communism, is the Communist Leaders intend to enslave the human race and exploit their labor for the benefit of the well connected Elites!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* This is what he said:

"We cannot expect Americans to jump from capitalism to Communism,

but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans doses of socialism

until they suddenly awake to find out they have Communism."

Nikita Khrushchev

Two questions...If this starts a trade war, just how many American corporations will get hurt both ways...since they moved to china.

Second...Arent they slapping the Corporations that made them this economic power more than they are liberals. ?

It was an insult to all of us, but is it a wake up call?
Not for this administration, I'm afraid, they will do what is necessary to appease the money giant.

I see trade wars on the horizon, and it will probably be the best shot of Penicillin the Country could ever get.
It just might force some of those corporations to fold up shop in China, though it won't hurt China the least little bit, to them it will be merely a name change of companies.

This things been brewing since Nixon opened the door!   Nixon thought he could control the Red Menance and beat them at their own game!  Bush Senior (who called supply side economics "Voodoo Economics" and was a former CIA Chief and Ambassadore to China) thought he could deal with them, as well.  What these Presidents discounted was the ability of future Presidents and our government; indeed our society to maintain a proper perspective of the inherent danger of openly dealing with a communist state!  If you crawl into bed with a snake, you're going to get bit!

Just like the Elites (Republicans and Democrats) burdened us with NAFTA and subsidising globalism, our government has failed to look out for the American people as they have become entangled in a web of deceit spun by the Communists and their supporters!

Couldn't agree more Wally.
I remember the day Nixon went to China, it was like the first moon landing, unexplored terrain.
But both have hostile environments, and both will only accommodate you as long as you compromise with the terrain.

I don't want to make a direct comparrison of Nixon to Stalin (who was a mass murderer), but like Stalin, Nixon would stop at nothing (including breaking our own laws) to get what he wanted.  He probably could have beat the Chi-coms if he had not got caught and forced from his job.  Who knows?  I don't view Nixon as a great American President, but he no doubt was one of the most powerful ones!  Both Nixon's use and abuse of his power did a lot of harm to this country and the Republican Party!  We ought not forget that the man who opened the door to normalizing relations with the communist regieme in China, without any conditions, was a Right Hand man of that noted Commie Fighter (and corrupt tin pot politician) Joe McCarthy!

Again, no doubt, Nixon had his own plans (one might call them schemes) to ultimately deal with the Chicoms and the other commies, as well.  All he achieved was setting us up for failure by embracing them as if "they ain't so bad"!

I agree with a lot of what you are saying but in my opinion NIXON or any other western leader could NEVER control the Chinese or beat them at their own game.

YOU WILL NEVER BEAT A CHINAMAN IN A GAME OF WITS, they are too clever and too practical. The practical part doesn't apply with our western style democracies where everyone is tyring to advance their own party.

Our best bet, during the cold war, was to play the Chinese against the Russians and Vice Versa, that is what Nixon was doing and doing well.

That should still be our intent, but we have no one smart enough and cleverenough to work it like that. As I have said many times, CHINA is not the enemy, The Russians (soviets) are and always will be.

Oh for God's sake, they're just people. They're entirely capable of screwing up and making dumbass decisions. The fact that the Chinese leadership's come to understand that communism would never lead them to the sort of wealth they'd need to challenge the U.S. is certainly a mark in their favor but it hardly means they're some especially clever branch of the human, family tree.

By the way, Nixon didn't play the Chinese against the Russians. They already hated each other's buts as numerous military operations - artillery duels, incursions, aerial skirmishes - proved. Nixon was just bright enough to find a way to turn up the heat on the situation.

If you want something to worry about with regard to China, worry about a civil war as the pro-democracy movement becomes reinvigorated and starts to squeeze concessions out of the national government.

That ought to make you pee your pants because when a quarter of the human race gets busy killing each other there'll be no good places to hide.
