Some of my libertarian friends like to go off about the U.S. having such a high incarceration rate. They always point out that the U.S. has a higher incarceration rate than China.
I always respond that people who are dead don't need to be put in jails.
They also don't distinguish between forced labor camps and prisons.
China has far more forced labor camps than we do prisoners, in fact, the China Diesel engine/generator is made solely by forced labor and sold by the Govt. around the world.
And as you mentioned about death, the attrition rate in these camps is high...
