I apologize for offending you...I did it for expediency and out of laziness there was no malice intended... :(

Done deal.  Our Chase credit card just got tossed into the wood stove.  Thanks for the info, Zip.

This PC Christmas crap absolutely INFURIATES me.  I stopped shopping at Wal Mart for AN ENTIRE YEAR a few years ago because their employees were told NOT to use the words "Merry Christmas" and the words "Merry Christmas" were not used on any of their advertising and store signs.

The next Christmas season, after protests and complaints by thousands of their customers, Wal Mart learned the hard way that they had made a big mistake, so they changed their PC minds about the whole thing.  I'm glad they came to their senses.  I like Wal Mart.   ;D

You beat me to it Zip. Chase can kiss my butt before I'll ever do business with them. Luckily, I live in an area where the PC crap is minimal. As far as the major department stores are concerned, I walk through them during the Christmas (holiday) season and if I don't see a prominent display of appropriate Christmas goods, I don't do business there during this time of year. Many of the department stores have gotten the message regarding their tactless renaming of this season and are now coming around.

Actually Xmas means Christ Mass.

The Greek letter chi, which looks like the English letter x.
The term has been around for well over a thousand years, Gutenberg started using it because it made it easier to set type with the first printing press in 1436, when the term went mainstream.
It wasn't all that long ago when people wanted to return to the traditional form, "Christmas, that Xmas lost favor.
But its still acceptable, just merely lazy.

I never knew that but I just Googled it and you're right Sir. Funny thing is I've felt this way for years Long before Al Gore invented the Internet and there was such a thing as Google  :))
