Charlie Sykes regrets...

My admission - I lived in Milwaukee Metro for 18 years, during which time I listened to the rise of both Mark Belling and Charlie Sykes, including Sykes moving to WTMJ (a really whacko liberal station at the time).  I have been all through WTMJ, including the basement, which was not rat infested at the time...  It is a very active environment.

Charlie is pulling a fast one, BTW... Charlie is not really a conservative, never has been one, IMO.  Remember, Charlie works for WTMJ, and suggests he listens to Sean Hannity, except, Sean is on a competing station, not on WTMJ.  Here's their weekly schedule.

Friday

12 a.m. to 2 a.m. - Overnight America
2 a.m. to 4 a.m. - Red Eye Radio
4 a.m. to 5 a.m. - This Morning: America's First News with Gordon Deal
5 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. - Wisconsin's Morning News with Gene Mueller
8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Charlie Sykes
12 p.m. to 3 p.m. - Jeff Wagner
3 p.m. to 6 p.m. - Wisconsin's Afternoon News with John Mercure
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. - Sports Central with Greg Matzek
9 p.m. to 12 a.m. - Clark Howard

I think "Red Eye Radio" might come closest to "Conservative" on WTJM.

Meanwhile, WISN, the station who has been carrying numerous Conservatives, like Mark Belling, has a bit more familiar weekday schedule to Conservatives.

Friday

12am-5am Coast to Coast AM
5am-6am The WISN Morning Briefing
6am-10am The Jay Weber Show
10am-12pm Vicki McKenna
12pm-3pm Rush Limbaugh
3pm-6pm Mark Belling
6pm-9pm The Sean Hannity Show
9pm-12am Mark Levin

The real standouts McKenna, Belling & Levin are heads n tails above Charlie Sykes' recent media sensation.
Why would anyone want to listen to Liberal "The Milwaukee Journal" station (WTMJ) with it's sub par line up?
Oh... that's right, they carry the Green Bay Packer games... and the broadcasters are pretty good.

Here's the real MEAT of the post, Charlie's regret... if you care to read it - the Liberals are just ecstatic!

QuoteIn an excerpt from an interview with Darcy posted on Twitter Sunday, Sykes discusses how the conservative media had established itself for decades as an antidote to the "mainstream media," educating generations of viewers to view the major media outlets with suspicion. The result was that there was no longer anyone in a position to fact-check Donald Trump in a way that would reach his base. "We've basically eliminated any of the referees, the gatekeepers. There's nobody," Sykes said.

"At a certain point you wake up and you realize you have destroyed the credibility of any credible outlet out there," he added. "And I am feeling, to a certain extent, that we are reaping the whirlwind at that. And I have to look in the mirror and ask myself, 'To what extent did I contribute?'"

... That's the context ...

a.  Charlie Sykes is a not-so-conservative posing as a #nevertrump (whatever....), and has ridden that wave of popularity... just about as far & long as he could - he might have been an #alwaysHillary from the get go.
b.  Sykes works for a Left wing radio station WTJM, also owned by a very left wing television station, which competes with a Conservative station, WISN.
c.  The gatekeepers are of course, Liberal pundits!
d.  IMO, it was always about ratings, just like FOX news hosting the debates & creating fake news out of thin air - but in the end betraying undiscerning Conservatives.
e.  The #neverTrump story ran it's course in Milwaukee - he's trying to keep them hanging around WTMJ a little longer.... hence the Liberal interview of a conservative having regrets (the Libs eat this stuff up).

It is a shame anyone bought Charlie Sykes' #neverTrump line, the rest is just liberal regret - attempting to lead them back to the Democratic promise land.

Charlie Sykes? Never heard of him...

LOL - that's EXACTLY  the point!   Charlie Sykes is to talk radio as John McCain is to Conservationism.

Take or create an issue, pretend to be the champion of the cause, run with it.... and while the dumb masses are still listening - try to draw them back to the Democrat fold.  If Charlie Sykes WAS a Conservative, he wouldn't be allowed to work for WTMJ.

I can't stand Belling's voice. He sounds like he doesn't have a nose.

Quite the Contrary, Mark has a huge nose, and it's rather crooked!

If you can get over the "tone" of his voice, it does take a little bit, he is a rapid fire debater, shredding the opposition in meer moments - when he gets started.   Not as good as Mark Levin, just a different style - but equally polarizing (in a good way).  IMO

I'd like to think we could really use him in Virginia, but, he actually stands out best in a liberal environment, and being the TALL type, probably easily pelted with tomatoes or empty beer cans.  When he moved from Madison to Milwaukee, he lit up the airwaves with his political incorrectness - and immediately gained a steady following.

A favorite of his, calling government workers & supervisors at 3 or 4 pm on a Friday, when the weather is nice, and seeing if they are STILL WORKING, or sneaked out....!   Absolutely brilliant idea!   Made a point of tuning in on Fridays, just for that 1/2hr of him harassing Government officials.
