Hi from one newbie to another -
What you bring up are separate issues:
1) I think the GOP needs to do serious soul searching on what went wrong and not just find single scapegoats. Prior to the election, we could be comfortable with each other bashing the Dems and media for reasons they deserve. Now is the hard part, looking into ourselves and what we believe in and our goals, and here is where there will be differences in what if any changes need to be made to the GOP. Unlike other sites, this one from what I have seen is accepting to such discussion and debate. It is from these types of discussions the GOP will move forward, though some will disagree with certain directions the GOP may follow.
2) Charlie Crist is largely irrelevant to this. I have seen discussions about him from both liberals and conservatives, and the overall consensus is he is nothing but an opportunist, not driven by strong core values. His reception at the Democratic convention, when he was an Independent, was only lukewarm. The Dems may support him for Florida governor but there are other contenders and it won't be a slam dunk for him.
