RON PAUL!  I kid you not!  The perfect man for the job.

QuoteHere's a little irony in the House GOP sweep: The next chairman of the monetary policy subcommittee -- overseeing the Federal Reserve?

None other than Ron Paul (R-Texas), who'd just as soon abolish the Fed.

Paul is the ranking member of the Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology on the Financial Services , which oversees the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Mint and American involvement with international development groups like the World Bank. Unless someone bumps him, he's next in line for the subcommittee gavel.

Paul is critical of all the institutions he would oversee. He's long called for killing the Federal Reserve, and this year tried to get an audit of the Fed into the Wall Street reform bill. He's asserted that the dollar should be tied to the gold standard in order to keep it from losing its value.

The committee has been low key under Rep. Melvin Watts (D-N.C.). His web site says he plans to hold hearings on "equal access by the visually impaired to U.S. coins and currency."

It's safe to say that a Paul chairmanship might be a little more intense.

The Republican Conference will vote on Paul leading the subcommittee, taking into consideration seniority and Republican leadership's preference. Paul's office didn't return a request for comment

The absolute best thing to happen.

Do not be surprised, though, if the PUB Hierarchy decides to wash him out.

As I have stated in the past, Solar, most of us can only control who we vote for. With an obscene amount of money, you may be able to buy a few more, but a RINO to you may be a god to some dude or dudette four states away.

Do the RINOS really know they are becoming irrelevent?  That is a HUGE question that has yet to be answered.

Don't count your "new wave of conservative Republicans" before they hatch.

Only a lib can bury their head that deep in the sand.
No, these RINO know quite well this anger is pointed at them as much as it is against the Dims.

But they also know they have no choice but to play along, they know it's just two short years till the next election.

True dat. The last time we did was just a few years ago, and within just a few years, the bastards were acting and spending like drunken DIMS.

I may be from Texas, but the boogers still have to show me.

Absolutely correct, Shooter.  I can tell you that Maine's two RINO U.S. Senators, Snowe and Collins, sure as hell AREN'T going to change their ways.  The ONLY reason they get elected every six years is BECAUSE they are RINOS who live in a very liberal state.

Yes, the ignorant voters of Maine somehow came to their senses and actually elected a Republican Governor for the first time in many years (by a very slim margin) and also elected a Republican state Senate and House for the first time in many years, but on the federal level, Mainers still love their liberal U.S. House members (both got re-elected in landslides) and their RINO U.S. Senators.

Next door, in New Hampshire, the voters did some liberal housecleaning............both of their Democrat U.S. House members got the boot, and Republican Gregg's U.S. Senate seat was retained in a LANDSLIDE by Kelly Ayotte.  Watch out for Ayotte.  She could be a rising star in the Republican Party.

As for Massachusetts, what can you say.  The Massholes are as fucked up in the head as the Kalifornians.  Another Democrat sweep in the statehouse and in all U.S. Congressional districts.  How Scott Brown ever got elected, I'll never know.  I dread even driving through that state on my way to somewhere else.

The Mainers have loved there being on the dole since the days of The Whigs.

For a state to have such a tradition of patriotism as Massachusetts and to become so screwed in the head Liberal is way beyond my meager comprehension skills.

You really are starting to piss me off AF!
California is not as liberal as you think, we just have the worst of the worst libs in the State, along with their vote buying and illegal alien supporters.
Look at this map, it shows a breakdown across the State of voters, and note, it just the Coast that pulls leftist, all but for Alpine County, with a total of 7000 residents.
When I first started reading your article, I thought you meant if we all didn't come together, it meant the Conservative movement would die.
But I agree, it will be the GOP that dies, if necessary, we will start a new party, the Tea Party is set and ready to take the Reins, the GOP so happily let go.

We are fighting virtually an up hill battle against corruption in this State, but, if you look at the next map, it was only Boxer/Pelosi district that was against redistricting, once we redistrict this great State, you will see an entire different picture.
