Canada trying to pretend they're tough negotiators

I'm worried about this trade war with Canada.  If it goes too far, what will I put on my pancakes?!??!!?

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-12-06/canada-kills-plan-buy-boeing-super-hornet-jets-amid-growing-trade-feud

QuoteThe growing trade feud between the US and Canada escalated overnight when Ottawa announced it was scrapping a plan to buy 18 F-18 Boeing Super Hornet fighter jets amid a deepening dispute with the U.S. aerospace company, Reuters reported. In a snub to the US, Canada's Liberal government will instead announce that intends to acquire a used fleet of older Australia F-18 jets, the same kind of plane Canada currently operates.

The unexpected decision demonstrates Ottawa's anger at a recent decision by Boeing to launch a trade challenge against Canadian planemaker Bombardier which Beoing accuses of dumping airliners on the American market. It also puts into question the future of Boeing's military sales in Canada, which however is a two-edged sword: Boeing says its commercial and defense operations in Canada support more than 17,000 Canadian jobs.

The trade spat comes as Canada and Mexico are locked into increasingly acrimonious negotiations with the United States over the NAFTA trade pact.

I was shocked and amazed when I read this... I had no idea Canada had an air force!!!

Too funny, the parts made to repair older F-18' are still owned by Boeing, and keeping older jets in the air is no cheap flight.
Yeah, that'll teach Boeing.

Like the pissed off teen boycotting a cookie maker, only to turn around and buy all the ingredients to bake cookies from the very company she's boycotting.
Canada and critical thinking doesn't go hand in hand with their lib leadership.

I've known a few Canadians, who often bragged they could buy Cuban cigars and Russian crap - we Americans could not.

Maybe Cuba has some pre-WW2 Bi-planes for sale?

This is good news. It would be irresponsible of us to sell them something lethal that they don't know how to operate.

Well, there are things you just don't do. You don't let the children run with scissors and you don't sell things that go boom to the Canadians.

And you don't rely on a partially charged Tesla to outrun a Santa Ana fed fire in So Cal.

Things you can do in Canada, that you can't do on city or State, or even Federal land on the West Coast. Thank a lib for stealing fun.

Part of my mission is finding unique discoveries. So, behold, the Climbing Tree at Cambie and King Edward in Vancouver.

I found out about this place because I live close to the area. Some people like to take dates there or just go there with someone new to the city.

It's super charming and such a #vancouverisawesome experience. You can't get more Vancouver than climbing a massive tree to get a view of the mountains lol.

They already got something that goes "Boom", Ice flows breaking up in June.
And something that goes "crack", ice reforming in July.

Why Canadians don't celebrate "Independence Day" - it's too confusing not knowing from which one, USA or England.

Things you can do in Canada?.......You can freeze your ass off in June.

I recall many many years ago we took the Kids to Canada and visited "Canada's wonderland" supposed to be their answer to Disneyland...it kinda sucked, but I do recall it was so cold we had to wear jackets.

I ran security for a concert in BC in 1980, a huge Woodstock style event, rained nearly the entire time, some snow, there was 6" if rain/mud on the ground, and the Canucks stayed, claimed it was a warm storm for July, and besides, the sun broke out on the final day, making it a complete success in their view.
I was miserable, despite sitting on stage right by a heater.

Oh yeah, the RCMP was confiscating truckloads of beer, yet the crowd still managed to get wasted.
