Title: Can the court send you to jail for not telling the truth?
Post by: Michellestrebe on April 26, 2018, 03:04:56 PM
I was wondering can the court send you to jail for not telling the truth. And is there a law in place for people who tell lies to the Judge and every one else?

If you lie in COURT UNDER OATH that is the FELONY Charge of Perjury. You can certainly be jailed for that but in real life very seldom is the charged used  The judge perfers "Contemp". He can do anything from impeaching your testimony (disregard it) fine you, or"step you back" remanding you to the custody of the bailiff where you will be held in a cell for X period of time.

I am not talking about me. My brother ex wife said he did something that was not true. And the Judge refuses to give him his kids back. Even thou they droped the charges. And I feel there needs to be a law that says if you lie under oath then you go to jail for 5 years or 10 years.

The boys better start singing to Hillary if they want to stay out of jail:

To Billy's bayonet: True enough, but Alger Hiss is the shadow hanging over Hillary & Company.

This is due to the prevasive anti male culture which permeates the courts. Modern Men must pay for perceived historical injustices against women...
