I find this quote to be quite telling.

As I said, I believe that they're about to take on newer planes.  Me being the gash that I am when it comes to flying, I would wait.

For one thing, the new AF1 isn't even close to being ready.

The new Air Force One planes aren't slated to be ready for operations until 2024.
