Title: California may bail out Tesla customers
Post by: taxed on August 04, 2017, 09:37:06 PM
Definitely don't work on the dams and water problems....  People need their rebates because they chose to buy a car they wouldn't have purchased if not for the rebate.  Idiots.

http://theresurgent.com/confusing-does-elon-musk-need-a-bailout-or-is-he-worth-21-billion/

A little clarification, the author attributes Musk's wealth to government.  It made him richer, sure, but he's the guy that gave birth to PayPal, so he was doing OK before Tesla and SpaceX, which makes it even more stupid.

The author then puts forth the most stupid idea in regards to bailouts.

I would never buy  one of his cars and I think they are some of best looking cars ever designed.

If this guy is so clever why doesn't he design an electric car everyone can afford?

I got news for Moonbeam, Californians simply don't have the money, so they can tax away, but people will just up and leave.

The answer is to secede and form their own country. Then they could print their own money. It is the democrat way.

That's okay. They can use that new rail system that will be completed any day now.

That's another one that the current living generation will pay for something they'll never see built, assuming it ever does get built, but we'll get taxed regardless..

And when it is finally completed it will still be cheaper than a Tesla.

And still built along an active earthquake fault, the San Andreas. If not for the force of leftist govt, none of their ideas would have ever come to fruition.
At least Tesla cars can head for the Sierra in an effort to outrun the quake, as long as they stop to charge at the foothills for a few hours.

I'm sure your highways are lined with charging stations, right?

Well, not where I live, which is near Hwy 50 between Tahoe and Sacramento, so if they come this way, they better have an alternative if they caught on Hwy 50, because, if it's not fires, rock slides, blizzards or jackknifed big rigs keeping them jammed on a two lane Hwy, they'll simply run out of power due to slow Bay Area traffic going up to gamble.

We locals can make it to the lake in under an hour, but we know when to drive. BAT' (Bay Area Trash), simply aren't mentally equipped once they leave the city, to them more than 5 car links between cars is an empty roadway.

This is one of the reasons why people won'y but electric cars. The stress. We've all gone through this a few times in our lives. We're driving down the road and we glance at the dashboard and notice we only have less than a quarter tank left. We try and remember where the next gas station is and then start what seems like an eternity of mental calculations to see if we can make it without running out of gas. We drive slower, turn off the AC etc. Electric car drivers will go through this daily unless they are prepared to knock on some random door and say " You don't know me but can I plug my car into your living room?"

Exactly!!!
I was driving South on I-5 about 30 miles from the last town and another 35 till the next, and these are small towns and highly unlikely to have a charging station and even less likely to have an English speaking business beyond a liquor store, and I'm looking at this thing wondering if he is worrying about that thing turning into a brick at any moment.
I turned off, but still wondered if he ever made his destination, because where he was, was way out of his element.

It's one thing to call for a can of gas, it's another animal altogether different to have a tow to a town that hates gringos and an outlet that struggles when you plug in a blow dryer.
Of all places, Ca isn't ready for this BS either.

So here's what we do. Buy a few pick ups and load them with generators and then simply drive along the highways and charge these skinny jeans, hipster glasses wearing militant enviormentalists five quid a minute to recharge their silly Prius.

After a 50 dollar hookup fee and a minimum of 1 hour charge, plus fuel charge, plus 20% carbon tax of course for burning diesel for the generator as well as travel time at a minimum of 1 hour.
Let these clowns tow their own generator.
